Most hp laptops have a little door on the bottom that covers the ram chips. Look up your laptop at www.hp.com to find out what kind of ram it uses and what the maximum ram capacity is on it. After that you can order ram online or purchase it at a local pc or electronics store and replace it. Usually it involves removing the aforementioned door with a screw driver and gently pulling the lock-in pins apart to remove the old chips and replace with the new ones. Good luck and let me know if you have anymore questions.

Have compaq nc6320...upgaded ram from 2gb to 4gb...do i need to uprage bios..or?? thanks. lare

Hey mate,

you shouldn't. Windows will recognise the extra memory and allow you to play with to maximum potential depending on operating system. i.e. Windows 32bit has a RAM limit of 3.5gb while Windows 64bit is limitless.

I would update the chip sets and bios driver anyway as there are usually a lot of fixes for things you didn;t know where strangling the system.

hp.com will have everything you need.

Dear User,

You need to roll back the touchpad driver. To do this kindly go to device manger and select Mice and Other pointing device under this you will find the touch pad driver, double click on it and select Driver tab and then choose Roll Back Driver.

Reinstall the RAM board. Adding RAM should not affect your programs, unless you put the wrong type of board or size in.
