First you need an adapter for this: which way is the lock - aed9005.jpg

After you have an adapter, it will have markings on it for you to push up the white slider, which will push a mechanical slider inside the microsd card to unlock itself. You can't do this by hand because it pushes a metal contact inside the card itself. If it is still locked, try plugging it into your computer and use a locking program.
Simple Terms: If it is a normal card, push towards the arrow to unlock, push away from the arrow to lock.

It says memory card locked

AYou didn't specify what type of memory card you're using so I assume you're using an SD or SDHC card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

How to remove write protection from my sd card

While looking at the front of your SD card, the label on your card should have "lock" printed on the left upper corner of the label. On the left side of the card should be a very small tab. If the tab is closest to the top of the SD card, it is unlocked. Likewise, if the tab is closer to the middle of the card, it is locked. The tab slides up and down; up is unlocked and down is locked. Hope this helps!

My memory card is locked

Good day!

Locked..You mean write protected?I think there are instructions on how to unlock it.

Anyway, Try this:

There is a slide unlock/lock switch in the side of SD card. Its up and down switch that on and lock the card.

If you're using a mini card try to insert it to standard SD adapter.\

Mastergani

Memory card is locked. Where is the lock?

This is usually caused by the SD card, and is nothing to do with the camera. On the SD card there is a small slider - which allows you to lock the card (to prevent accidental erasure).

If you put in on the table with contacts upwards, corner cut top left, then the slider is on the right hand edge, about 1/3 the way down. If it is slid to the top position (nearest the contacts) the card is unlocked. If it is slid down (away from the contacts) the card is locked.

If it is a damaged / "cheap" card, sometimes the slider falls out, in which case the card is locked. You can still read from it, but not write to it until fixed or replaced.

First check is to turn the camera off, remove the card, move the slider to locked, then back to unlocked. Replace in the camera and turn on.

Have you tried the camera with another SD card, to see if the problem persists? (A reputable photo store will often lend you a card for the 20 seconds it takes to do this test).
