Have HP Deskjet 940c on Windows 7. Only drivers available are from Win 7 but those drivers no longer display ink levels. What does?

Find another computer (laptop?) that is running Windows XP or Vista. Install the HP device-drivers.
Connect the printer to that other computer, and use the software to display the ink-levels.

Copy count - how can I find it on my HP Deskjet 940c?

If holding the resume button or ink button doesn't printout a status report, you need to look on your computer with the printer hooked up, in the maint. tab for that printer in the control panel. You just have to look around, sometimes in printer preferences or advanced maint.
