Question about Datamax DMX-I-4208 Label Printer

1 Answer

We use tags on our printers and they aren't feeding out all the way. The roller is moving but the tag isn't, is there a way to put more pressure on the printhead to feed the tag out better?

There are two plastic head pressure knobs on top of the printhead with a circular arrow. Turn with flat head screwdriver counterclockwise to increase pressure. Try to keep both close to the same position.

Paper feed won't pick up paper. tried to put single paper in but paper jam light goes on but no paper located. we think we need new rollers for the paper feed but not sure where to get them in...

The paper pick up fingers and rollers get smooth and polished with use and then slide on the paper. Clean the rollers and pick mechanisms with isopropyl alcohol to rejuvenate them and restore their grip on the paper. Do this as far along the paper path as you can get, using Q Tips where necessary and turn the rollers to clean their whole surfaces.

Wire feed runs at maximum speed

Ensure the set is upluged, then check coninuety? across centre tag and the left tag then the right tag, if this checks out OK then check the resisters close to the center tag. potentiometer are cheep enough, get a replacement from Tandy or RS spares.

The paper does not feed thru.

There or 4 or 6 tags on the bottom of the printer you need to lever those aside to release the casing

I have a canon pixma mp210 series printer and on the printer's screen it comes up with e 2 3 as soon as i turn it on what does it mean and how can i fix it?

E23 Paper feed error

A piece of paper may not be jamming the rollers, but something small, such as a sticker or, in my case, a tag I cut off of a shirt and set on top of my printer, may be stuck under the roller.

Take something stiff and push it under the roller from inside the printer. As soon as you can see it from the other side, remove it and restart the printer.

power on the printer and force a single sheet of paper through the rollers

Roller rocker meets valve stem tagging inside of spring

They make valve stem caps to raise the hight of the valve stem & stop the rocker from making contact with the spring retainer.Good luck,

Paper feed problem.

I have just removed the panel where the power and USB cable lock into. It's a case of 1 screww from the rear and 2 catchs underneath the printer. From there you should be able to see the mechanism for the roller, a set of small white cogs. below that you should be able to see a very small spring which is acting as the pressure. Mine was still attached but as you say was pulling no pressure on the roller what so ever.

Solution:
Find yourself a large-ish rubber band and slip the band over the whole mechansim. Best way is through the paper feed slot, slip it over the roller and then move it through to the area where you removed the panel. Position the rubber band as far down the cogs as possible, don't worry the cog casing prevents the band interfearing with the cogs. Now pull the band reasonably tight and with the other hand test the pressure of the roller. Adjust till you feel OK with it. Now put the panel back in with the end of the rubber band trapped and poking out from the panel behind the printer, holding it in place. Redo the screw and give it a try.

My first attempt found it a bit too restrictive and feeded to sheets at a time but adjusted it once and its back to normal. I know its a bodge but its a cheap one and it uses a rubber band, just how I fixed my Punto's windscreen wiper, £120 part or a rubber band once a month... Mmmm...
