Question about Grohe Ladylux Cafe Faucet with PullOut Spray in Stainless Steel 33755KD0

Open Question

The flow on my ladylux faucet is really low. I have cleaned the tap strainer mesh and that has not solved the problem. In order to get hot water from the tap, I have to turn on the tap at my prep sink (about 8 feet away) to get the flow going at my main sink. Even still, after just a few minutes the water goes cold again. I think because of the flow rate. Is there any other way to clean the faucet; maybe at the point of entry there is some type of restriction?

SOURCE: I have a grohe ladylux

On this particular faucet you may not be able to reach the part that might be giving you issues in the spray head. However, to take the head apart, on the spray face you will turn it counter clockwise, the aerator will come out at that point and you should be able to see down into the tube to see if there are any obstructions. Also if you are using the little Grohe water filter that goes into the handle before attaching the hose, it is possible that that is clogged especially after 3 years. You should be able to remove that altogether, or contact Grohe for a replacement. If once you have removed all of these and have found no removable obstructions, then the only other thing to do is contact Grohe for a replacement spray head which I believe they are still available. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: Just purchased a Ladylux faucet

Do you have good water pressure in rest of house if not you may have to put a pressure booster system in. if you do there may be a water saver washer in the end of the hose on the faucet, you can disconnect the hose and if there is a washer with small holes in it you can take that out(you may have to put some type of hose washer back in the hose so it dosen't leak).

If it has a removable aerator screen, remove it and clean it out. If it can't be removed, try soaking the entire head in white vinegar for a couple of hours. You should see a big improvement.

Low water pressure

Is the low pressure at all hot taps, or just some? Faucet strainers could be clogged. Hot water heaters usually don't have strainers, but check for something that could clog up.

Take it back apart and check the placement of all the o-rings and or seals.
The low water pressure may be no more then the aerator being dirty where the water comes out of the spout.

Slow water flow

first check that there are no kinks in the hoses if they are alright it is either a blocked restrictor in the tap or a fault with a tempering valve this valve will be located away from the tap and is what mixes hot and cold water together so that the hot water isn't too hot, in the inlets to the valve are strainers that get blocked clean them out and see how you go

If the problem is that there is not enough hot water coming out, or when you can not get the hot water to shut off you may need to replace the cartridge inside the faucet.

Looking for tank psi trying to get better water psi out of the shower and taps

Every faucet and shower have a water saving restricter in them. Remove them from the shower head and end of the faucets.
They are about the size of a dime and with about 1/8" hole in them in which water flows out. So the flow is getting restricted from 1/2' flow to this giving you a water saving about a 1.5 gpm.

Below is some more information for the web site please check it out for further help.
http://www.inspectapedia.com/water/Poor-Water-Pressure-Diagnosis.htm
Poor water pressure just at certain plumbing fixtures? poor cold water pressure, hot water pressure, or both hot and cold water pressure or flow that is observed just at some plumbing fixtures in a building while flow and quantity are good at others suggests that the water flow or pressure problems are local to certain runs of supply piping or to the specific fixtures. Check the following first:
  1. Clogged aerator or strainer on sink faucets - clogging by dirt, debris, corrosion, can significantly reduce both hot and cold water flow at a sink where the strainer needs cleaning or replacement. Unscrew the strainer from the faucet and turn on the water - if the fixture pressure or flow is much better you've probably found the problem.

Look at the aerator/strainer: inspect it, clean it, perhaps soaking it overnight in vinegar to remove corrosion and mineral build-up, or just install a new aerator/strainer.

I have a Grohe Ladylux Plus and the water pressure was good till about 6 weeks ago. Now I have very low flow in kitchen. What do I do?

If it is just this faucet and no others then it is likely the filter screen in the tap head is clogged.

Remove the cover from under the tap head. Pries off from the tap head directly where the water comes out.

There is a metal mesh screen there. It will be full of white chalky deposits from minerals in the water supply. Clear that out and you will be good to go.

You will also want to clear the holes for the spray pattern. The same deposits will be there.

Good luck.

If this helped give you some direction please rate the answer for me.

Thanks.

I would check the strainers on the intake and the faucet spout. It is possible that sediment has built up and now is impacting thermostatic flow from the faucet... if one side is clogged its hard for the faucet to balance... try the stainer on the spout and any other strainers that may be on the supply hoses, valves, intake, etc...
