Quick connect is not the problem... the water is coming further up from that - it seems to be coming from the hinge on the door (or at least that is where the water is coming out - nothing is wrong with the quick connect. How do I get inside the freezer door panel?

Everything normal on my GE Profile Model PFSF6PKWBBB French door bottom freezer refridgerator except the water dispenser just quit dispensing water. Is it frozen? How do I fix it?

The paddle that you push the glass against to dispense water activates a microswitch. Sometimes this switch can break off it's mount and drop away from it's intended position. The microswitch operates a solenoid valve near where the water line enters the back of the fridge. Then there's the wiring in between them. The water line doesn't go through the freezer. It runs through the refrigerator in a coil of tubing then into the door of the dispenser. Check the paddle switch, the water solenoid and the wiring and you'll find the reason it doesn't work

Tip

GE / Hotpoint S xS Refrig: Will not dispense water

Remove lower grill and disconnect the water line going through the freezer door hinge. Usually it is a push lock fitting, which requires you to push the ring on the end of the fitting toward the center of the fitting while pulling (not hard) on the plastic tube. Now place a pan under the separated plastic hose and try the water dispenser. If water comes out, your problem is a frozen water line in the freezer door. A warmer freezer temp may help, or you can order and install a WR49X10173 water tube heater. (the heater may take 24 hours to thaw the line, but I have used it successfully several times. Cost about $50) If no water comes out the separated tube when you try to dispense water, reconnect the tube at the hinge by pushing the plastic line back into the fitting. Now, at the back of the refrig., disconnect the water line going from the water valve to the fresh foods compartment. Try to dispense water. No water at valve outlet = bad valve. Water dispensed from valve now = frozen water filter or water line at back bottom of fresh foods compartment. (make sure you disconnect the right tube. If in doubt, disconnect them both, just get them back correctly so your icemaker continues to work) Send me additional comments if needed. Don't rate before you try all the steps.

Admiral refrigerator ATF1910DR watre leaks inside the refrigerator unit at the bottom.

In looking up your model, it shows you have a freezer on top.
All you can do is allow at least 48 hours to pass with the fridge UNPLUGGED and doors open. Your defrost water drain is clogged..
By using the 48 hour rule, you don't have to disassemble. Just need
a place for you groceries.
For instant gratification.
Start by;
Removing all contents and shelves.
Remove: IceMaker
Rem: rear wall of freezer.
Rem: ice from drain. (I use a steamer) (You can use any safe
means available. If you use hot water, be sure to suction the
water out as you pour with a wet dry vacuum.)
Test to make sure water flows out of the drain tray when small
amount of water is poured in. Water flows into a tray underneath the
cabinet..

Reassemble... Done..

So, what caused the problem you asked?
Simple as door was left ajar, or small coffee bean, corn or pea
fell into or near drain hole.. Also make sure refrig. has a slight
tilt. higher in front to assist in door closure...

Ice maker stopped working. the water and ice dispense from the door, but it does not make any NEW ice...

The water tube to the icemaker inside the refrig is frozen up. Thaw out with your hair dryer. To make sure the tube is clear. Shut of the water to the refrig, disconnect the inlet water line to the icemaker. Insert a flexable through the connector fitting, I used a zip tie. The flexable item should go all the way to the icemaker

Solution #2 Replace the "water inlet valve" at bottom back right of refrig. Easy To Do.

A GE Profile Model, double door refrigerator with a water leak

If the leak is on the refrig water valve where the wall water line connects to , then use a 1/2" wrench and tighten the fitting on the water valve itself . If the leak is on the plastic tubing at the bottom of the refrig water valve , pull up on the small white ring while pushing down on the plastic tube to remove it from the valve . Cut off about 1 " of the tubing and reinsert it into the valve with pretty good pressure to be sure it is inserted completely .

GE Profile Refrigerator Ice Maker not working

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps the cubes , replace the water inlet valve ( piece on back of refrig that the wall water line connects to ) . If it doesn't dump the cubes , replace the icemaker . Also make sure the coils are clean under the front at the bottom of refrig , or the squirl cage behind refrig ( model number would have helped ) , of dust , lint , pet hair etc .

I have a G E. modle GSS22UFMD WW .SIDE BY SIDE. I,M NOT GETTING WATER TO DOOR,ICE MAKER. I PUT NEW FILTER IN THAT DID NOT HELP. I UNHOOKED WITERLINE UNDER FRONT DOORS NO WATER IN LINE,WHEN I TAKE WATER...

Did the icemaker and water dispensor quit at the same time ? Your model has the 2 lines coming from the top ( filter ) behind the refrig . One line to the wall water line to filter and the other coming down to the water valve . Do you have the filter bypass piece that came with the refrig ? Use it to test . Remove the back panel . If both stopped at the same time , check the connector that the wires connect to . With 2 connectors on each solenoid , those 3 or 4 wires go to a seperate plug in . Check this plug in . If wireing seems ok , remove the larger tubing from the valve by pushing in on the white ring and pulling the tubing out at the same time . Press the water dispensor , and see if water comes out of the valve . If it does , (you said you disconnected the tubing below the freezer door and no water came out while activating the water dispensor ) then the tank at rhe bottom of the refrig section behind the crispers , is frozen . To thaw , use a hair dryer with the light bulbs in the refrig section , unscrewed slightly . This is only for the water dispensor . For the icemaker , disconnect the smaller tubing , while someone else , turns the icemaker on and off several times to see if the valve momentarily opens each time the icemaker is turned on and off . I think the water valve wiring plug , has something to do with this because I have never found a G E where both quit at the same time without it being that plug ( 2 times ).
