Question about Samsung SGH-D820 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Hi,everyone! I've been using Samsung D-820 for a long time but suddenly in the middle of a conversation,my display wont work anymore while everything else is working fine.Is that related with flat cable or something else? If flat cable should be the problem I would gladly take it to Samsung service,if it's not I'll keep it just as a sentimental value or a fancy alarm clock and buy a new phone:))

Why is my Samsung phone say : unable to connect with WEP460.

get into router and take off WEP, run it wide open. If it works, turn WEP back on or go to WPA2. Some newer devices wont do WEP anymore.

Samsung Galaxy S2 fell into water wont turn on ! PLEASE HELP

You should not have tried to use it right away. You should have immediately pulled the battery out and then blow dried it and put into the rice bag for 24-36 hours. Because you tried to use it is shorted out. You will need a new phone as it is probably not going to be able to be fixed. Sorry!

HI I have a FSP200-61GT SPI switching power supply with a burned out Mosfet on the high voltage side. There is a (I think)a .5 or 1 watt resistor on both sides of the mosfet. But they test good, my problem...

I think it's usually about 820 - 1K Ohms... It;s the emitter resistor. In saying that we generally don't repair these SMPSU's anymore as they are so inexpensive these days like NZ$45.00 for a 350 Watter. Also 80% of the time the repaired supplies fail again shortly after due to the stress put on the other components, by the initial problem.Good luck.

Apple Cinema Display 23" LED short-long-short flash prob.

Hello, I had the "short long short" blinking led problem with my 23" ACD after a power outage which left my screen blank and my cheek wet with a tear for my baby. I read somewhere that a guy was getting a 1 volt reading on the middle pin of his damaged 90 watt power block. I figured maybe the display might work if I could somehow block the middle pin. So I cut a small strip of paper wide enough to block just the middle pin and long enough to cover both sides, folded it to look like a "W" from the side. I then carefully pressed it into the brick receptacle with a toothpick leaving just a little slack so it would not tear when I pushed in the small white plug. It was a bit of a tight fit but guess what. IT WORKED! I am now enjoying my beloved monitor anew and saved $$$ on replacement brick or repair. If you want to try it and you feel you’ve nothing to lose, make sure you cover just the middle pin (both sides) and you may have to try a couple of times. It worked for me. I hope you have good luck too. Regards, Moozler

edit December 2016. Still working after 7 years.

***CAVEAT AND WARNING***
Use this fix at your own risk.
A faulty voltage regulator is probably the cause of failure. Voltage regulators can start a fire if too much voltage is applied.

Bud Martin's post below describes the electronic component failure that causes this problem. Thank you Bud.
