motor will not run when you turn it to fan. I tried spinning it will power was on it felt like some of the coils where on and some where not, motor felt like it was sticking in one spot. With power off it spins freely.

Compressor runs and fan does not. Replaced capacitor and still had problem. Checked voltage through relay board and there is 115 vac coming from both hi and lo outputs from board at the same time. Is this correct?

all fuses good. I believe camper was subjected to a lightning strike. could problem be in the thermostat?

Sounds like 1 of 3. Blower motor capacitor, relay or thermostat. Try to run fan only if that is an option and see.

Hi; You still have a loose connection somewhere. I have found just recently a problem with a customer with the same problem He had burnt wiring at the compressor terminals. Also check to see if the fan on top of R.V. is running when the inside fan is running they are connected together on the same motor up top. Also check for a dirty condensor coil this can cause the compressor to fail out on thermal overload...alpharome416

On my 2004 duo therm rv roof a/c,I turn it on and to listen to it, everything seems fine. But it`s not cooling properly.I have changed the filter, went on roof, removed cover, motor and fan are working...

on the compressor two pipes normaly one must be very cool .and other pipe very hot this means compressor is ok
if not cooling that much means low charge of freon need repair first the leak then recharge with freon.

Have Duo Therm roof mount A/C. Fan runs but when compressor tries to come on it just has a hum sound for about 10 seconds then after a short period of time it tries again but will not kick on

It sounds like the compressor is locked up. You can try a start boost or hard start kit but once this starts the compressor is on it's way out.

Duo therm ac problem

Same problem. I have a 2005 on a Rockwood Roo. Worked fine in October 2009. Not working June 2010. Problem is not a freon leak, compressor went bad. I banged the compressor gently with rubber mallet then with a hammer but that did not work. The fan runs, the compressor runs but gets hot. Also no indication of freon moving through system as everything gets warm from the compressor outward.

My problem is the fan never goes off runs 24-7 and you can hear the compressor kick in from time to time. Is something wrong or do they all do that for a roof top unit? Any help on this one?
