This is only possible if there is an option in device boot order in the BIOS configuration.
In older motherboards there are no options for booting up with a USB flash drive in a USB port, because there are no USB drivers installed until Windows boots up.

1. You should a working Windows XP Sp2 setup.
2. Just boot through the bootable pendrive or CD rom whichever you are using.
3. There should be no problem in installation.
4. If installation is completed then download the necessary drivers required from HP website particularly for your model.

Sandisk micro 2 gb not recognised on win xp laptop works on other machines. pls help

Sometimes windows XP doesn't install the driver to recognize your USB ports. For example, a fresh install of XP does not contain any driver for sound or graphics. The best way is to update your windows XP up to Service Pack 3 by installing SP1 and SP2... etc, it will take a looooooooong time, but your PC would be better.
To check whether or not you have any USB drivers install just go to control panel and then device manager. Look for Universal Serial Bus (USB)

Just a tip

If yours is a PC, Windows Vsita 64 bit should recognize 4 GB RAM. Have you tried the 64 bit bootable linux? Try with that. If you see less than 4GB, then you must check your BIOS for some setting which is the setting to share to the graphics memory or some limit.

Hello

the black screen at windows startup implies that u have a probleme with ur software package(service pack 2)

so get a fresh copy of the softwares u have mentioned
then 1st install windows serice pack 2 from the bootable disk
after that when windows starts install ms office professional.

below is the link to download windows xp sp2 and ms office2007 professional(better u use opera 9.25 version or higher version for download)

For windows xp sp 2-

How i can make xp proff service pack 2 bootable pendrive, cd,sdcard

helo frind

1. Windows Xp installation disk
2. Access to PC with working CD Cd-ROM DVD drive.
3. This file solution.rar

This guide is for people with basic knowledge of PC hardware and system software
Let's start.

1. Download solution.rar file
2. Unpack solution.rar file on drive C, you should have a folder named C:\Dos
3. Put your pendrive ( at least 1GB) into working PC USB port
4. Go to the folder C:\Dos and run HpUSBformat.exe file
- it should auto detect wyour pendrive disk, if not select form the list ( my pendrive is a drive G: )
- set other options like on the image below and click start.

- now you have a pendrive with bootable dos on it.
5. Copy all other files from C:/Dos to your pendrive. ( you can overwrite existing ones)
- your pendrive should look like that

6. Put your Windows Xp installation disk into Cdrom and copy all files from CD to pendrive.

If you have Windows XP / SP2 and Windows Media Player 10 or higher. It should be recognized. If you have these, try changing the mode to MSC. Best of Luck.
