Hi, i payed for technical support on Saturday and the tech told me to manually add water to the ice machine and if it doesen't work replace it to fix the problem, How do i know its not the water not getting there or something else? The ice machine made the ice, It just didn't drop the cubes. Do you have any Ideas, or is the first tech right?

Re: ice maker doesn't work
I would test cycle the ice maker first now that the water is in it and frozen you will need to remove the plactic white cover off the head of the unit you will see some holes in the face of it make a small jumper wire and jumper across the T and H (push in the wire into the holes) this will need to be left in for about 10 secs to start the cycle then pull it out watch and see what happen in the cycle let me know PS: some units required the door to be closed for the IM to work so hold the switch in or if your model havs the ice bin on the door ..close the flapper on the red optics

HI THERE.ice maker not working has many reasons.but try these checks first1-stop /start leaver or switch.2-water in ice tray.if not fill manually first and try.if works once 3-check inlet valve or water supply.if all ok then is either the ice machine or pcb .good luck Ali
HI.FIRST MAKE SURE U HAVE TURNED IT ON.SWITCH OR LEAVER.2- WATER ON 3-WATER IN ICE TRAY.4 IF EMPTY PUT SOME ON MANUALY.AND TRY.IF IT WORKS ONCE AND STOPS THEN U HAVE A WATER SUPPLY PROBLEM.CHECK PIPE;WATER VALVE.IF ALL OK THENNNN...ICE MACHINE?HOPE THIS HELPS.ALI
Add some water manually to it. If it kicks out a batch after a while but no more then I would replace the water supply valve. If ice is already in the mold then your ice maker is faulty. Service manuals
There should be a float connected to this valve that tells the valve when to open and when to close it kinda works like the float valve in your toilet (check this float),as far as the water leaking out of the cup in the ice maker the float probably bad, Hope this works for u
If the ice maker has ice in it then the ice maker is bad but if the icemaker is empty do this simple test, add some water to the ice mold and wait a couple hours, if it makes a batch you probably have a bad water valve and if it don't then the ice maker is defective. Nothing else in the ice box determines ice production OR add the water but the ice maker itself, so if the water vale is good the IM is bad. I have more on this with manuals and repair photos: HERE
Your ice maker works off a different side than the water dispenser. Most times the water control valve is the problem yet it has 2 sides one for water and the other for ice. You can check the ice maker by filling with tap water. Let it freeze and if it dumps the ice and tries to refill I would say the water control valve part number 4389177 will need to be replaced. BG...I'd buy into what the tech is saying. There are a number of ways water gets in but usually, it is a solenoid valve which lets water into the tray. The valve is controlled by a float switch. Usually, these items are replaced as a unit. When you touch them, everything cracks. If no power, then none of the functions will work...no water flow, no auger action.
