Mabey for some reason someone locked the things to prevent theft or so they didnt get accidentily deleted, and sealed it with an access code for extra caution, check your bios.

When i try 2 view files it says the drive is not accessable : access denied can i fix it?

Hi, there could be multiple reasons for this error. How old is your hard drive? Did you unplug the device while transfering file to it. You could try to replug it on the last pc where it was working and try to do a scandisk. Thanks

Unable to delete files in maxtor onetouch iii mini

Access can be denied for several reasons - if the file is in use or even part of it - try dragging the folder or file to your desk top and then delete it

Do you want to access the drive d and get your files. You can not access it when you double click the drive. The drive will says access denied. To access the drive d open My Computer you can see there a address, there is and arrow there just click. Chose the drive d to open i am sure that you can open it.

Accessing a folder.

This will sound off the wall, but we had something similar to this happen with my last laptop, where it was "access denied" in lots of areas, and we would have to find little backdoor ways to get into control panel and document files. The problem with our computer was that it had previously crashed, and we had rebooted and reinstalled the xp, but didn't have the registration number, so it would run ok, but to get into all those access denied things (which you eventually need to get into) we had to come up with our registration number.
Did it prompt you to enter the product key when you re-installed it?

The hard disk in drive D: is not accessible

I recently had this problem. Whenever I clicked on any of the drives a window appeared with warning which said drive not accessible. Access is denied. Previously I thought that it is a virus which has edited my registry and is not allowing me to enter or even view my content. So I formatted the whole system but that didn't help. Now I am sharing this with you.
  1. Open My Computer. Goto Tools>Options. Goto View Tab Pane. Uncheck the last Option in the Advanced Setting which says Use simple file sharing(Recommended). Apply the setting.
  2. Open the properties window of the drive you are unable to access.Goto Security tab pane.
  3. Goto Advanced.
  4. Now click on the Owner tab pane.
  5. It's very rare that the ownership of the drive changes. But it happens once in a while.
  6. So if you are the user say Admin then select Admin(ComputerName\Administrator).
  7. Click on the box which says Replace owner on subcontainers and objects and click over Ok.
  8. Apply the changes.
  9. Now you should be able to access the drive.
