Truncating links you might want to embed the link inside a click here statement, as some browsers will truncate the long ones in the postings.

I noticed it only matters when posting a solution. Firefox for example posts the link as text only.

Yeap, well if the users asks why the link isn't working in that case I would provide a embeded link.

So far haven't got any complaints or then I just don't remember.

More than 200 photos have just vanished from the sdcard. They were not deleted. How can I retrieve them? Are they lost forever?

Yes it is possible... You need to use a photo recovery program immediately. EaseusPhoto is free ...you must do this ASAP before the computer writes any more stuff to hard drive.choose complete recovery and allow the program to scan the entire hard drive. It will list all found files.these will not have the original file names...you may find some images truncated due to blocks being overwritten by computer since reinstall.here's the thing once it finds all the jpegs that were deleted you need to save them on to other media such as external sad card reader or hdd as it may not allow you to save found files on to the hard drive you searched.

Sony Cybershot DSC-50 is flashing error E61:20 what can I do

Hi there:

E61:20 is a lens error. The gears of the motor and the lens barrel and viewfinder gear have become misaligned. While it still may laboriously focus it will probably eventually fail unless reseated. This can be accomplished many times by a few smacks to bottom of the camera right after turning the camera on. There are also additional suggestions in the links below.

Lens errors are a common problem. Dirt can get into the gears or the lens can become misaligned from being carried in pockets, purses or at the beach. With newer cameras I am usually hesitant to suggest these options since they include some more extreme procedures that may cause further damage if not done correctly, but they may save you an expensive repair bill. The three links below give step by step DIY instructions on troubleshooting and attempting to fix this problem. The lens structure of these compact cameras is the same so the examples do apply to this unit. These procedures are effective about 60% of the time. Click on or copy and paste the links into your browser. Pay special attention to the opening statement at the first link if there is any chance of warranty repair.

I have a DSC-W220 model. While turning on the lens goes out and in for 3 times and after the display shows "turn the power off and an on again". I tried reseting by taking the battery out,...

This error is indicating a lens error and lens will be in need of replacement. The most economical repair route (if warranty does not apply), will be to contact some technical service for lens replacement and alignment or Contact Sony factory service.

Your previous diagnostic definitely indicates a mechanical problem, once the possibility that a false sensor signal to the main board as the cause by resetting all functions. It is very likely that there is a blockage or a broken internal part that is preventing the correct positioning of the lens which triggers the shutdown and error display.
