I have a grohe aquatower 1000, and i cannot get it to turn off once the water main is turned on, i've replaced the thermostat cartridge and still have the same problem, and it sprays out of both the body sprays and the rain head! Any clue what it might be?

Okay, so the upper valve that i did replace only controls the temp and not the on off function??

One more question, when the builder plumbed the home he stubbed out a hot and a cold with the male theaded fittings on each one, he plumbed the hot on the left and the cold on the right like a normal sink or shower would have, my question; is for this tower should the hot and cold have been reversed because the two supplied braided water lines cross over each other inside the unit!

Thank you for your help with the other problem, i will get a new cartridge ordered right away!

27016 1000 Shower System Color Ref. no. Add Starlight® Chrome 27016 000 I have a grohe aquatower - add-to-portfolio.gif 27016000.gif http://www.groheamerica.com/lib/1/tpi/963679.pdf I looked at the above technical document regarding the Grohe aquatower 1000 system.

Operation

Operation of the shut-off handle (H), see Fig. [13]:

Shut-off handle in central position = closed

Shut-off handle clockwise = discharge from hand shower

Press button (H1) and turn

shut-off handle anti-clockwise = discharge from side shower

Press button (H1) and turn

shut-off handle anti-clockwise fully = discharge from side shower
and hand shower
Have you tried to twist the shut off handle in central position which equals closed? The unit will spray out of both body sprays and the rain head when the shut off handle is turned anti-clockwise fully which equals discharge from the side shower and hand shower. I hope this helps.

It's the main valve/shut-off handle (the bottom one) - the cartridge in it failed completely and it no longer controls in any way the water flow.
You must replace it.

Yes, it's strictly for the temperature and apparently it was just fine. The water flow is controlled just by the bottom knob.

No , this is how it normally looks like. See here

The water shut-off valve is leaking, thus not completely shutting off the water supply to the unit. Need to be repaired/replaced.

yes, but most parts for Grohe have to be ordered so call your local supply house before wasting time driving there.

Hot water comes out when i turn the thermostatic temp to the right. cold water comes out when i turn the thermostatic control to the left. Since hansgrohe is a German brand, is this correct? i believe...

no, someone probably reversed the water lines in the wall, or if the cartridge was replaced, it was installed backwards.

try removing the cartridge and flipping it, and try it out....

this works on almost all grohe faucets

I just installed Grohe aquatower 2000 shower panel. there is no hot water.

Before installing, did you check the supply temperature? The mixer won't do any good on your AquaTower if you didn't calibrate the water temperature coming out of the wall first. I suggest you remove the supply line to the unit and measure it with a handheld thermometer (it should read 36 or 38 degrees celcius), then reconnect to the unit and you should be able to make adjustments through the mixer.

Grohe bath faucet adjustments

grohe is a faucet all by itself ,,, I would recomend to have you call there repair dept. and explain this to them, you said you put in the new cartridge and thats about all there is to it, when you put on the handle make sure it is not over tightened, sometimes it pulls on the cartridge and makes it come on by itself good luck
