Wireless 108G MIMO Router Model DI-624M

My son just installed the D-Line wireless router and although I can link up to the internet, I can no longer send/receive email through Microsoft Outlook. Any idea what I need to do? Thanks, Debbie

Tell your son to change the MTU settings on the router, especially if you have DSL.

Changing MTU on router

Step 1.
Log into your router by open your Internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer), enter the IP address of your router (e.g. 192.168.0.1) and press Enter. Specify username (admin) and password to log into the router.

Step 2. Click on the Home tab and click on WAN on the left side.

Step 3. Look for the MTU field (note that it may not be available in some router models). The default MTU value is 1500, change it to lower number, e.g. 1200.

Step 4. Test your ability to connect to those specific sites youre having trouble with. If changing the MTU rate to 1200 does not resolve the problem, start lowering it in increments of ten until the problem is resolved (you may need to go as low as 600 depending on your DSL connection).
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

I need the software to install my wireless router di-524

If you cannot get a copy if the installation CD, then the D-Link wireless router can be configured manually.
Connect a LAN cable from the D-Link to the LAN port on your computer - open a browser and enter the D-Link's configuration URL.
http://192.168.0.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = blank (just press Enter)
You can now change the default password and configure the wireless settings eg. SSID and encryption etc.

I recently moved from Cable ISP to DSL ISP service. For the DSL service, I was asked to configure my Router to use PPPoE with Dynamic IP addressing. I also provided the router with my username and password...

The reason you have no internet is because the router is specifically for cable. your description contains errors what i think you mean is that you have gone from cable dsl to an adsl, correct me if i am wrong. Basically your modem connected to your router via an ethernet cable and then the router fed the wireless signal to your wireless devices or via ethernet through the 4 ports in the back. With adsl you have a feed from your phone line to an adsl modem so the only way for you to get the dsl router working is to have two ethernet leads connecting to your pc, one from the modem to the pc and one from the pc to the router. You would also need to setup internet sharing on the pc thats connected to both devices.

Either do it that way or buy an adsl router

Connecting Dlink DI-514 with my another 3com router (wireless)

No, the router requires an Ethernet cable be plugged into the back of it to receive its Internet signal.

As far as I'm aware there are no consumer-grade routers that will pick up a wireless signal from another router and use that as the Internet source.

Sorry you didn't get the answer you were after. :-\

D-link 634M wireless router problem

Assuming wireless connection is enabled in the router(if you have the option), and it was set up initially through a RJ45 lead; make sure the router is not using 108 mbps streaming, as your laptop probably only has 54 mbps capability. See if you can set it to 54 mbps and re-start router.
