Question about Sony VAIO VGN-TXN15P/B Notebook

1 Answer

I have a three year old sony vaio laptop and it is in great condition except that the battery had to be replaced due to the fact that it burns out so quickly. My new problem is when i go to turn on the laptop it starts up as usually i enter as start up windows as normal and hit the return key. The system starts to load as it normally would and then as soon as it would be at the log in screen there is now log in name. The screen is just a white/black color. I have no idea how a laptop from sony is acting like this when it is used for business purposes only. And this one i actually use just to check client emails and check financial data while on my other laptops. Is there a way i can fix this problem without paying the ridicoulus fees that sony and or "best buy" and other stores try and charge?

It is asking for a log in name or password
if you never used one try just hitting the enter key to see if it moves on in the process
unfortunately unless any one else has an answer , you may have to take it to a computer repair shop and have the problem properly diagnosed

Sony GRZ610 is a piece of ****. It overheats itself due to poorly designed processor cooling. With time processor performance degrades.

Black screen is an indicator of some fault condition ( I am guessing overtemp. related). Removing power helps clear the fault code.

Removing all the power (battery and ac input) overnight will work usually. However, the processor maybe as good as dead.

Sony vaio vgn-nr285E battery won't hold a charge

If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

Burning error all the time

the reason why it went from burning everything to barely burning and now not burning is because the laser in your dvd drive is bad. It takes alot of power from the laser to burn dvd's and it only has so many hours that it can burn before it goes completely. Replacing the drive is the way to solve the problem. If you machine is under warranty then getting it replaced by sony shouldn't be a problem. If its out of warranty then getting one off of ebay should be pretty cheap.
