Download the firmware for the version that you are using. (File is less than 5MB). Save it in My Documents Open the router page by typing in the default gateway in the address bar of your browser. On the left hand side column, under UTILITIES, click "Firmware Update" On the login page, leave password blank and click submit. Click on browse, locate the firmware file in your My Documents and click Open. Now click on update. After updating, unplug power for 3 mins. from router and plug it back in. **Now if this doesn't work, Under UTILITIES, click on "Restore Factory Defaults" and wait, it ll count down and after that, try to re-configure the router for your internet connection. This will work 100%, all the very best my friend.
you might need to disconnect your modem for 30 secs then reconnect it . i have just reset my router and then the pc would show a connection but it only went to the router not through to the web.disconnect your modem reconnect then do a reconnect on the pc
Try to clear the cookies of your browser first. Also delete the browser history. If that did not help, try to reduce the MTU of the router. You can do it when you access the router's setup page through internet explorer http://192.168.2.1
If you're connected to the router with excellent stregth then the problem most likly lies in the routers connection to the internet. Check your DSL, Cable modem and make sure the connection to the "Internet" port on your router is good. Try switching out the Ethernet cable if nessciary.
Has the computer ever stayed on long enough to connect to the internet?
Is there a wired computer working when attached to the router?
If not, if possible please try to connect the laptop wired to the router as a test and tell me if it works.
I am trying to determine if your router works with the internet before considering the wireless connection simplying the initial problem. Once the router works wired is time to try the wireless. Once the wireless works unsecured you may want to change the router and wireless adapter to secure the wireless network. So this can be a three step process.
