Question about Maytag Neptune MAH7500WH Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Machine is leaking detergent

I just noticed that the machine is leaking detergent on to the floor. Seems to be coming from underneath the machine, as opposed to something wrong in the dispenser area. Thanks for any suggestions.

Washing Machine Emptying

Sure sounds like a hole or crack in the tub.  Unplug power, shut off water, and disconnect the hoses.  Tilt the washer onto its front and look underneath.  Use a light to inspect the tub bottom and sides for a hole or crack. If it is small enough you might be able to plug it with silicone sealant.

Water and soap under washing machine

Plug off the mains power on wall. It could simply be that one of your hoses has become loose or has a tear. You have to examine this from wherever you get a good view. Then remove or refix, you need a grip clip plier if you cannot manage with an ordinary pair of pliers.

The only time I've noticed a puddle on the floor was when I used too much HE detergent. No matter how big the load is, I only fill the cup to the very first line of the cup that comes with the detergent. It's no where near the max level on the detergent reservoir for the machine. Try using less detergent (way less) and see if that fixes the problem. My clothes still get squeaky clean!

LG washer leaking problem

You may be using too much detergent.  Use only 2 tablespoons of detergent in your wash.  Using too much will oversud the machine causing the suds to go out the back vent and on to the floor giving the sense of a leak.
On the dispenser, make sure that the containers are clean and free of any debris.

Washer leaks small amount. DIY fix: check hoses and ???

Wires found in hose!
When we turned washer on it's side, we found the hose from the pump to the basket had been pierced by two stiff curved wires, still embedded in the hose. Water was leaking around the wires. Wires had come out of an underwire bra! Dealer had only heard of this once before; on his own washer!
MORAL: handwash your bras, ladies.... or pull those wires out each time.

Not getting clothes clean anymore

Have you moved or has where your water treatment facility changed? Changes in the hardness of the water can cause detergents not to react well. A hard water test is easily picked up at the hardware store. I had a similar problem changing from well water to public system.

Water leaking from wash machine

It is probably a seal that is on or near the bottom of the tub. Dirt and grim wears at this seal over time. The leak is slow so it is hard to visually see.
