Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Simplified Windows 7 File Search - XP Style Results

Many of us are still a bit confused with the Windows 7 File Search and the somewhat overwhelming and often confusing 'Help Files". I hope this makes life easier.
There's a lot of things you can do with Windows 7 Search, but in reality, all that most of us want is to do a simple search for "?' files without this confusion. Something akin to XP. Well, here it is, simplified in a simple way by a simple person, me :- P

Using your mouse: -
1. Left click on the "Start" icon,
2. Type in your search in the search box, eg, empire, eny*, joy*.inf, *.PDF etc. Much the same as you would with XP.
3. Click on the magnifying glass "See more results", then either
4.a Left click on "Computer" to search entire system, or
4.b "Custom" to search specific folders in a similar way to XP.
DONE :-)

If you want to further narrow down your search parameters, click on the top right where your search phrase is for more options.

If Search does not work, check to see if the service is enabled: -
1. Right click on "Computer" (either on Desktop or within Start Icon)
2. Left click on "Manage"
3. Left click on the "Services and Applications" pointer.
4. Left click on "Services"
5. In the right panel, scroll down till you see "Windows Search" and: -
6.a Right click on "Windows Search" (or double click to skip next * step)
6.b *Left Click on "Properties", then: -
7. Change the Startup Type to "Manual" then click on "Apply" then "OK".
8. It's not necessary, but restart Windows anyway.

Some System/Hidden files won't be shown unless previously enabled using a separate process.

I installed TP-Link WN7200 on Windows 7 Home Premium, the drivers is not digitally signed. The adapter is disabled and I can't enable it. There is no error in device manager. Please help me.

It is ok if the driver is not digitally signed. There's no need to worry.

To enable the adapter:
  1. Click on the Windows Start button
  2. Type in "network"
  3. Open "Network and Sharing Center"
  4. On the left bar, click on "Change Adapter Settings"
  5. Select your wireless adapter
  6. Right click on the wireless adapter then select Enable.
If you cannot select Enable, it means your adapter is already enabled. The adapter has a gray icon due to it not being connected to a router.

Are you able to see any available wireless networks?

Make sure the wireless radio is on, the wireless switch should be located above the keyboard, it has the picture of a satellite.

My wlan will not enable

Check that wireless service is running
XP: Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, then press Enter.
Scroll down to "Wireless Zero Configuration" and right click on it and select Properties. Set it to Automatic and not Disabled, and press the Start button, then click OK.
That should start the service.
7 (vista): Click Start, type services.msc, then press Enter.
Scroll down to "WLAN AutoConfig" and right click on it and select Properties. Set it to Automatic and not Disabled, and press the Start button, then click OK.
That should start the service.

To enable wireless adapter we need to go to device manager and enable it.
XP:
1. Right click on My Computer and click on properties.
2. Click on Hardware tab on system properties window.
3. Click on Device Manager
To go to device manager we need to click on the device manager button.
Now we can see all the hardware devices connected to the computer. To see the status of our wireless adapter click on network adapters.
4. Enable the Wireless adapter
To enable wireless adapter, right click on it and click on enable.
7 (vista):
  1. Open the Start Menu by clicking the Start button. Click on Control Panel.
  2. In the Control Panel, click on Network and Internet.
  3. In the Network and Internet panel, click Network and Sharing Center.
  4. In the Network and Sharing Center, click "Manage network connections" in the Tasks list on the left side of the window.
  5. The Network Connections manager will open. Right-click the icon labeled Wireless Network Connection and click Enable on the menu displayed.

The last step checks if you have the wireless switch on or off. Locate the wireless button (in the middle, above the keyboard). Try to toggle it, see if is says anything.
