Same situation, cleaned out drain hose, blew it out with air compressor and used shop vac on outside of home - the hose end and assured no more water in drain hose. Check line and adjusted bends so no more water would get stuck in drain hose. Reset and power cycled, waited to see if there was a defrost cycle wait time 20 min and it's been days, still have defrost error indicator light on unit. Any suggestions? It's been very cold here in the house at night.

Leaking Kenmore Refidgator

What is your model number? Sears Kenmore numbers look like this 321.2468102 I hear a lot of complaints from people that see water leaking into their refrigerator from seemingly nowhere. Water appears in different places and even inside or under a refrigerators that does not have a water or a ice dispenser! Frost free refrigerators defrost the ice that collects on the evaporator coil. Your refrigerator defrost on the average about every 8 hours so the water that accumulates during defrost has to go somewhere right? Yes the water is supposed to drain down a small drain line to a pan down near the compressor where warm air from the condenser fan will blow warm air over the water and evaporate the water again an put it back into the air inside your home, office or wherever your refrigerator is located. Over time that little drain tube gets slime, algae and a gooey white paste gunk that fills the drain line sides up stopping the waterflow downward to the condensate pan below refrigerator. If blocked by gunk or ice you will see trails of liquid leaking down the rear wall of fresh food compartment until it reaches the crisper drawers. Gunk is an accumulation of algae slime and just crud that appears from nowhere in a refrigerators defrost condensate drain line. How a refrigerator leaks is not always the same with every model as you may see frozen ice flowing down the rear wall of freezers on side by sides. Here is an example of a ET18PKXGTO Whirlpool refrigerator leaking water into a cup below the freezer compartment. Click here=> Whirlpool Leak Photo taken by TechnicianBrian. TechnicianBrian.com. And in this photo are several parts listed in photo group #1 were it is most likely running down the wall=> MagicChef CTB1921AR fresh food section. If you still have questions please ask and rate me if I was able to explain this well enough. Every refrigerator is made different so these are examples only. The key is to find if ice or just gunk has blocked you defrost drain. Unplug and then remove the rear panel in back of freezer. We need to see if the water is overflowing the condensate drain tray or if the blockage is in the turn the drain leads down back of your refrigerator. Much more on this page=> Leaking Refrigerators! Water running down inside back panel of freezer and pooling on bottom and freezer and ice maker not making ice like it should

Sopunds like the defrost condensate drain opening behind the rear wall of the freezer is clogged with ice or gunk or both. All that water is causing something simular to a defrost problem and causing the freezer not to cool as well as it did before. That will affect ice production! What is the model number of your refrigerator? I am pretty sure you are having a defrost drain blockage problem. Most defrost every eight hours and over a period of time the drain line that comes down from freezer into a cup like object top middle and back of the fresh food section. Ice build up on floor of freezer. can't figure where it is coming from. There is not a drain on bottom panel. Any suggestiuons? Frigidaire model no AFU2067BWL2

I know that your freezer shows a drain in its floor but there is also a drain behind the rear wall and at the bottom of a tray that collects the water during defrost and is surposed to drain that water that comes during defrost and then drains to a pan below the refrigerator and next to compressor. The solution will be to clean out this drain that is hidden from site behind the rear wall. I am pretty sure you are having a defrost drain blockage problem. Most defrost every eight hours and over a period of time the drain line that comes down from freezer into a cup like object top middle and back of the fresh food section. I have water seeping out from under the refrigerator. I have takenteh front grill out but cannot accesst he pan. I suspect a pump or waterline problem. My Refirgerator is a 1995

Can be the auto defrost water is overflowing in the collection tray.
It can be plumbing lines leaking in the inlet.
it canbe the deffrost tubing leaking onthe way down or the evaporator tray leaking out.
Best is to drain and check once again with the fridge moved forward and inbetter position to check.

Water leaking to bottom of freezer

ok you have a blocked freezer drain. The best thing to use to clear this is 'curtain wire (the plastic coated wire you use to hold up net curtains). Ok you need to find the drain hole in the "small tray on the back wall inside that fills and freezes and then the water is overflowing at this point to the bottom of freezer" you want to gentley feed the curtain wire down the hole untill the water drains down there. If you can't get the wire down you may need to turn the unit off to defrost as it could be frozen solid with ice. cheers
