I have an LG DLG7188WM gas dryer. The "cooling" light is always on and there is no heat. I have confirmed the vent line is clean. Your help is really appreciated! 3 boys and a labrador make for a whole bunch of laundry :)

Have a LG gas dryer dlg7188wm....doesn't heat

Take top off, then start unit. You can see orange glow in about 10 seconds on front bottom right by looking down from the top if the glow igniter is working.

Lg Gas Dyer, "cooling" light is on and there is no heat

Most likely the igniter needs replacing tho it also could be thermistor or lack of gas flow or a few others.

LG DLG7188WM runs but no heat

I believe that it does. All of these parts should be functioning properly in order to dry the clothes well.

"cooling" display won't turn off causing heating problems.

Try cleaning off the two curved metal bars (about 4 inches long) on the inside near the lint filter. They are what senses the moisture on automatic dry. When you use fabric softener sheets, the stuff from the fabric softener sheets can coat the bars, which makes the dryer think the clothes are already dry, and puts the dryer into cool down. (using time dry will also take the moisture sensor out of the cycle, if you'd like) This should be a Fix-Ya for your problem.

Clothes are taking 3 cycles to dry and cooling light on front wont shut off

The vent is clogged.  To make sure, disconnect the vent from the dryer and run the dryer normally.  If your clothes dry normally, then have a professional vent cleaning company take care of the vent.
The cooling light will always stay on during the run.  When it is blinking, the heat has stopped and is in the cooling process.
If there is no heating, you have a problem with the high limit switch or something else electrical and needs to be addressed by a qualified LG technician.
