Hi Friend,

You need to upgrade the firmware of the router. Please refer to the link below in order to download the firmware.

Now type 192.168.1.1 in the web browser and type admin as the password. In the oruter setup page click Administration, then click Firmware.
Click Browse and selet the file which you have saved on desktop and click upgrade. Once the upgrade is finished turn off the router for 30 seconds and switch it on again.

Now type 192.168.1.1 in the web browser and type admin as the password again. Click Wireles and then Advanced wireless settings and fill the sections as mentioned:

Thank you for your help - how great to find these steps on the internet. Perhaps a few of the steps have changed since you wrote this up - a few times I found myself having to guess at what I was supposed to do -but I got through it - and hope it worked. Thanks again.

How do i stop video straming interruptions?

Slow internet access
Will cause video interruptions or buffering - buy a faster internet connection speed or reduce the number of applications or people access the internet while streaming.
If your computer is slow, or has tasks which are taking a large amount of processing power to execute it can cause streaming to stutter.

Slow performance

First of all, SAVE ALL OF YOUR IMPORTANT DATA! Not programs, just Data. You can reload the programs.

Open Internet Explorer, Tools, Windows Update. Select Custom.
Install all the updates. Repeat until you no longer have updates to install.

Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup.
While that is running open your TEMP folder and delete everything in it. Then open the Windows folder and delete all files starting with $NTUninstall. In the Windows\TEMP folder and delete everything.

After that I like to search for all *.bak; *.tmp and ~*.* files and delete them.(They're all temp files)

After all that Open My Computer and Right Click on the C: drive. On the Tools Tab select Check Now. Check Automatically Fix Errors and Scan For and Attemp Recovery of Bad Sectors. Click START and reboot your PC. This will take a long time. When that is finished, go back to Tools and Select Defragment Now. This also will take a long time.

This whole process takes a long time if this is the first time you've done it so, be patient.

Bought a new comp woith windows 7, when i try to watch t.v. it keeps buffering, can u help me tyvm

First check to see that you have known good bandwidth on your internet connection. If this is slow, you will always run into a situation where your playback is running faster than your download rate and causing your streaming software to pause and buffer content before continuing.

I'm assuming you connect to the internet via wi-fi, try connecting to the internet through a cable & see if that helps.

Unfortunately the Presario CQ62-215DX does have problems with poor video streaming capabilities (frequent freezes) and poor wi-fi performance which is probably the cause of your buffering problem.

Hope this is of some help. ;)

Delete your cookies and temp files to free up space and speed the system back up. Every time you log on the internet those cookies are taking up bandwidth.

Im having trouble connecting to xbox live. Everything works fine when my sister's are NOT on their laptops. However, as soon as they start browsing the internet, I experience lag (although my connection...

Sounds like there is an issue with bandwidth on your internet connection. Either you have a lot of sisters using your bandwidth, your ADSL connection is on the slow side, or both. Your Xbox isn't getting the bandwidth it requires to operate smoothly.

There are ways to configure your router to allocate bandwidth to connected devices in proportions that you set. You could have 70% and they have 30%.

Also check that they're not watching streaming video or downloading stuff at the same time you play. Alternatively just hide their laptops. :)

Do you have cable TV also? If so, how many TVs are hooked up. Sounds like you have signal loss. I had the same problem. Also, if you have another coax cable lying around, try changing it out (from the wall to the cable modem, cables can be a big issue with this).

Exactly ASUS WL-500g, no internet connection

My advice and personal experiences with both wired and wireless connectivity, is if you wish to share files and internet connection, purchase a combined Modem/Router and not a seperate router to work along side your original modem. Your modem will send your router an ip address in turn your pc is sent one from your router and can get complicated; keep it simple! These are much easier to set up and control as one unit and if there are ever any connection problems you will know it's either a setting or a modem/router problem and not have to wonder ; is it the modem?; Router? settings? etc. As there are frequent loss of connections both internet and LAN it makes sense have one peice of equipment to maintain.
