Question about Samsung ML-2150 Laser Printer

1 Answer

Samsung ML-2152W I have a Samsung ML-2152W black and white laser printer which I have had for about 4 or 5 years. I have been using recycled toner cartridges for about 3 years with no problem - recently installed a new cartridge and I get a message "invalid toner". Contacted supplier who sent a replacement cartridge and same problem. What is causing this and how can I fix it? Thanks, **** Prodger

The problem is that the cartridge you re using was reloaded with toner, but the remanufacturing process did not include replacing the chip. The ML2150 and the 2151N do not read the toner's chip on boot, but the 2152W does. So you either have to get a cartridge that has a new chip or get a new, genuine, Samsung cartridge.

I had the same problem EVEN WITH NEW SAMSUNG OEM toner.

I took the printer apart and cleaned the little springs that sense the toner. I cleaned the springs with an eraser at both the toner-connecting side and where they contact the 1" x 3" toner board (located just above the little springs, but a real bugger to get to).

Since, to clean the contacts on the printer's toner board, you have to remove the sides, top, and the laser box on the printer, I'd recommend that you try to clean the contacts at the point where they touch the toner board that is on the front of the toner cartridge. Maybe you'll get lucky.

The other thing to do is to try to keep the dust and toner floating around the toner bay to a minimum. I suspect that the toner is the underlying cause of the problem.

Anyway, I resurrected a ML2151N that gave me the "Invalid Toner" message. But it you try, don't forget to unplug the printer before you start digging.

you are using a mono laser printer
possible problem:

The surface (drum part) of the toner cartridge inside the machine has probably been scratched.

Remove the toner cartridge and install a new one.

Black streaks on paper ML 2150 laser printer

Black streaks usually mean that toner is baked on. Pull out the old cartridge, if it has a lot of toner, vacuumn it out (unplugged of course), and then replace it with a new cartridge.

Black streaks on paper on samsung ml 2150 laser printer

Could you describe these marks for us please.

Are they small specks or blotches? Bad Toner Cartridge

Are they lines:
Horizontal - Transfer Roller or Charge Roller
Vertical - Bad Toner OR Bad Fuser.

Note: A bad toner cartridge can render all of the parts listed here useless. Check for build up or lines on the cartridge reflective drum. Avoid light, as with film.

If they are a mix of both, the device needs to be cleaned with a can of compressed air. You must remove the cartridge, paper tray(s, and fuser to create clear path.

Sounds to me like the doctor blade in the cartridge is 'gummed' up and not allowing the toner to flow evenly across the Developer roller......try another cartridge

Fain printing

I'm using remanufactured toner provided with my ML-2010 by Discount City when I purchased the printer and I'm having the same problem.

I have used non OEM toner in other laser printers also with disasterous consequnces so I think you'll have to 'bite the bullet' and purchase a new Samsung toner cartridge unless you can find out who manufactures the cartridge in which case you might be able to souece one directly avoiding the extorionate mark up.
