Got the rotor off, had to really work at it, problem was the gear
on the rotor was stripped, why it wasn't spinning. The rotor
was spinning but the tub wasn't - which is what caused the
noise. Tub spins by hand easily. Poor design, and would be
nide if one could just replace the center of the rotor, but that part is not available. Also, one would think if the center hub had larger or wider teeth this wouldn't happen. The stress on the teeth of the center hub when the rotor quickly switches direction is a lot. But then also, if certain people in the household wouldn't overload it......

I'm having the same problem with mine. The washing machine was given to me because the people who had it kept getting this problem. If the tub clean cycle isn't ran on a normal basis then this will happen and I would assume you have seen the LE code pop up on the display. If the normal maintenance is run and the problem is still present then the problem could be a bad tub bearing. First thing to do is run the tub clean cycle with very little bleach and make sure to use normal bleach and not anything like ultimate care bleach as to avoid suds. Just make sure to use a small amount and let it run.

Just finished with mine and thought I would share just in case you are still fighting with it. At some point there had been a small leak at the water supply connections and this drips inside the washer housing directly above the motor. I removed the rotor and stator and found several areas with fairly thick layers of oxidation which I cleaned off with a wire brush. After I wiped the parts down to remove any debris I re-installed the motor and its been working great but I did seal the edges of the water supply connection box with electrical tape just to prevent water from being able to drip on the inside if another leak happens to pop up. Just to be safe I have to say that the very first thing to do before touching the washer is to remove the power cord from the wall outlet!!!

Clothes too damp after spin cycle

Front loading washers are notorious for not spinning the water out of a small load of clothes. This is because there is not enough clothes in the washer to balance the tub during the spin cycle.

Try washing a slightly larger load with a minimum of six items or more. This is one of the downsides to front load models and no specific brand is immune to the problem.

My portable top load kenmore washer model 110.42722200 won't spin. It drains water and all the light functions work, but it only makes a humming sound like it is stuck when it gets to a spin cycle and does...

I just repaired this exact model this weekend. If the machine will drain but doesn't agitate or spin (you have to put a screwdriver in the lid switch to see), it's usually a loose belt. This time I replaced the belt, but it still would not agitate or spin, and the motor was not turning, just a "buzz, buzz, buzz" when the washer attempted to supply power to the motor. The start capacitor for the motor was bad. Part number 3429938 which runs about $60. Not hard to access once you tip the washer over slightly, just DISCHARGE THE OLD CAPACITOR so you don't get a nasty shock.

On spin cycle machine vibrates and makes a load banging sound especially on the final spin.

Hi,
When my washer did that, I found that the shocks that hold the tub were bad...

Check out this tip I wrote about that...

Makes a loud buzzing sound when washing

This buzzing sound can be from a couple things. A lose a lose kick/access panel when the motor and pump is in operation can cause a slight vibrating noise. Try tightening securing the dishwasher and kick/access panel.

Second, (most likely) their can be an obstruction or debris in the water pump. You may see a plastic grid (4" x 6"; filter like) in the right rear of your dishwasher; Try removing the grid (1 or 2 screws 1/4"/cross tip), then use a dry-vac to remove any debris. *

Safety: As a beginning, please remember to perform the repairs with the power-off and ensure you have water in the dishwasher before restarting the water pump cycle (the water-pump can become damaged while dry-spinning and water enters the pump suddenly)
