Question about Mitsubishi CS-40503 TV
First: I worked on a lot of these sets. They were expensive when new and were very good sets.
If set will work when not used for a while for a hour you have a soldering problem. What happens is the boards were not soldered by hand, they were soldered in a single motion. After years of use as board expands and contracts when hot and cold, bad solder connections develop.
I strongly suspect you have some bad solder connections now. The hard part with this set is it is so heavy and large you have to get the back off and get the board loose to examine the bottom. Once you have it in this position you look at the bottom carefully and bad connections will be clear to see--I fixed dozens of them (one given to me) and average time with board up is under a hour.
How much skill do you have and what are you willing to do?
The more you tell me the better I can help you.
