I will need the model number of the set and will also need to know what the power light does when the power button is pressed and also wether you hear any sounds. Please reply to this same post for assistance.
If the front controls on the keyboard are your issue let me know---also most of the older ones aside from model number have on the rear label in small print a Chassis number like PTK 195 etc---see if you can find that.

does the power light flash three times slowly then stay off? If so chances are its just the CP150, cp120 and CP114 capacitors. There is the RCA repair kit by that same name available from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the capacitors and the CD with repair instructions
IF model number posted is correct and green power light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off: On front of set press and hold both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time for at least five seconds and release both buttons.
Power light will then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.
Let me know what error code is found and I will tell you what it means.
