Question about Stanton STR8-60 Turntable

1 Answer

Hi, I've had a pair of these awesome decks for over 10 years and one of them has finally developed its first problem. It doesn't output anything to one of the channels (the white plug). I've messed around with cables and plugs and things to make sure it's the deck. Funny thing is that it sometimes comes back when I jiggle the power cable at the deck end. That's right, power, not ouput. I'm assuming it's a problem with the connecter inside the deck? (Tried different cable, same problem). If this is the case, can I/should I fix it myself or am I off to Derrigners to get them to fix it? Thanks

Sounds like dodgy internal cabling u need a volt meter to check between cartrigde and main outs also have you checked if you have an output from cartrigde on both channels you will need to swap leads on bak ov cartridge itself but b carefull pins are delicate

Sony tape deck won't play tape.

Dual well decks are among the cheapest and poor designs resulting in the problem you are having. Those decks that are well built may still need belts after a long time but the final result of the repair is a machine that will give good performance like when it was new while the dual cassette deck give the poor performance and then less due to wear that was had when they were new- figures like Wow and Flutter, speed accuracy and they rarely put really good heads in these as well. I fix them for clients but they never come up to a Teac C-3RX deck quality wise. Just so you know I have been working on tape deck for 40 years and even at Sony at one time. The ES line was the only good dual cassettes made and they have their problems too.

I would have thought that it should go from the amp to the tuner, then the tape deck and finally the CD deck.

I'm suspecting that your tuner is faulty and thats whats causing the system to shut down

Error message on citronic mpcd s6

Hi
I had the same problem with a pair of mpcds-6 bought a year apart that developed the same fault a few weeks ago, the repair technician said the units use a belt drive for the loading / eject system, cost was £90.00 for replacement belts for both units which included a
clean up and healthcheck of the lasers, ensure a genuine replacement belt is fitted. this should solve your problem.

good luck

i/ve found that sony has the best single trays (and freq range)..i would stay away from multi cd players and any jvc (jvc freq range is horrible)...your speakers must match these componets....(bose, yamaha or customize )
