Question about Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Calculator

1 Answer

The bottom half of the last row on my TI-84 Plus silver edition calculator is blank. I dropped it, but it's been dropped before without problems. I tried clearing my memory, but that didn't do anything. When a graph is on, I can't see the coordinates on the bottom. But the Y- axis where the blank spot is turns blue. I can't see anything but that. When I'm in the application list, some of the bottom letters have lines that extend down into the blank space, but only some. When I'm using an app, there are some lines in the blank space. Is it possible to fix? The calculator is only 2 years old.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.

What do you mean by "changed the resolution"?

Where is the apps key on a TI-84 Silver edition?

Fourth row (third if you don't count the function keys), second column from the left. It's just to the right of the MATH key, or diagonally down and right from the green ALPHA key.

i finally fixed my calculator~

1. if you have a ti 84 plus silver, plus, or just ti 84, find a friend who has either a ti 84 plus silver, plus, or just ti 84. (as long as the number is the same)

2. link the two calculators together

3. using your friends calculator, press the [2nd] and the one next to alpha [x,t,o,n]

4. go all the way down to [send os]

5. send it to the other calculator and your problem should be fixed
