It sounds like the cooling fan inside the laptop may have failed. Even with a cooling pad the airflow inside the laptop would not be sufficent to keep it cool. It would to be replace by a local computer shop.

Please take the time to review and rate our solution.

Hi what cud cause my hp dv9000 17'' laptop for not turning on when i press the power button..

If everything is OK,like the power cord and the battery, the problem is the power button.Locate the web symbol or mail symbol,if any ,in the upper top of the keyboard if any and press it.

If you need more help come back.

Can this HP Pavilion DV9000 laptop adapter fit for Compaq Presario V3000 laptop? I doult that HP Pavilion DV9000 laptop adapter on website:http://www.laptopbatteryshop.ca/hp-pavilion-dv9000-ac-adapter.htm...

Have a look at the label on the bottom of the V3000 laptop and check the voltage and amps power rating of the laptop.
If the DV9000 adapter has the same voltage and current rating (amps) or higher amp rating then it is suitable for the V3000 laptop, provided the power plug fits the V3000 power socket.

The clicking could be because it thinks there is a problem. Try doing the procedure for resetting the memory on the printer...
(For step 4, do # 3, # 6 as well)
  1. With the unit turned on, Press the Power button and turn off the HP All-in-One.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the Wall Outlet and then from the Unit.
  3. Wait for 20 seconds , Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
  4. Press and hold # and 9 while plugging the power cord back into the unit. Continue holding the buttons down until the display goes blank or it shows a message.
  5. If the printer does not turn on automatically, then turn on the unit by pressing the Power button & follow the instructions that display on the HP All-in-One to select the settings

HP DV9000 Display Works with battery not AC almost

Have you checked whether the Power Adapter of your Notebook is a 65 Watt or 90 Watt ??

If you are connecting a 65 Watt adapter with the Notebook, try wiht a 90 watt one from any other Notebook if available..

Notebooks with Nvidia Graphic card need a 90 Watt Power adapter to supply the adaquent power required for the Graphic Card and a 65 Watt adapter may not be able to supply the required power.
