I purchased an 8GB Gigaware SDHC card and it will not work in my camera. The camera will not take pictures and it keeps telling me that there is a memory card error. Can you please tell me how to fix this problem? Thank you.

You didn't tell us the make and model of your camera. It's possible that your camera can only use SD cards....not SDHC but we don't have enough info from you. Check your owner's manual.

Purchased 8GB fijifilm card for A330 and can't insert it

The A330 uses xD Picture Cards, which top out at 2GB. Your 8GB card is some other type (most likely SDHC) which will not work in the A330.

Samsung s1030 digital camera keep showing memory full but have inserted new sdhc card how do i clear this as i cannot take any pics

Clear it by putting in a compatible memory card. The S1030 works with SD cards. Your 8GB SDHC card in not compatible. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

The E327 works with SD cards. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it's electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed to accept SDHC cards. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Hi I inserted a new 8GB sd and the camera keeps trying to re-format. GZ-MC 200

There are no 8GB SD cards. A card that size is actually an SDHC card. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different. Many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

Unless your manual specifically says that your camera can use an SDHC card, then it won't be able to. The maximum size of an SD card is 2GB. If you need more space, just carry a couple of cards and swap them, like people used to do when they filled up a film.

Iwant to purchase a 8gb sd card for my jazz dvz100 camera. What is the specific part number or recomended brand to buy? Thanks Jerry

There are no 8GB SD cards. Any card that size is an SDHC (High Capacity) card. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

Any brand of SDHC card will be OK, if your camera can use SDHC at all. The difference between these cards is not the make so much as the class. The cheaper ones are class 2 (not very fast) while you pay more for class 6 (fast) or 8 (faster). The class should be specified, otherwise it's a slow one.

I just inserted a 8 MB card in and the camera says "Memory card needs formatting" I click continue, then it says "Formatting will delete everything on the memory card", no problem, it's a new card so I...

8MB or 8GB? If it's actually an 8MB card, you'll be able to put maybe two or three pictures on it, so I'll assume it's an 8GB card.

The DX4530 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into SD devices, there are electronic difference that prevent them from working there. SD cards will work in SDHC devices but not the other way around.

You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Why can't I get pictures off of an 8gb but I can off of a 2gb chip?

Some cameras cant manage/format large size memory cards as they where not made to handle that size. Check your user manual which should tell you the maximum size memory card your camera will take.

I have a Kodak Easyshare Z740 & we just purchased an 8gb sdhc SanDisk & it keeps saying it needs to be formatted it says everything will be deleted and then goes back to disk needs to be formatted...

You need to buy an SD card. the Z740 works with SD and MMC cards, not SDHC cards. While SDHC cards will fit into an SD slot, there are hardware differences which keep them from working. SD cards will work in SDHC devices but not the other way around.

Again, you need to use SD cards, which max out at 2GB. Anything larger is an SDHC card, which does not work in your camera.

If all other cards work fine then you may have a faulty memory card.

Your camera should theoretically be able to handle an 8GB SDHC card (but only up to 2GB xD card) as it is an SDHC compatible camera, but I've encountered more than a few cameras in the past which were SDHC compliant but could only handle up to 4GB.

Most of these had firmware updates to enable up to 16GB SDHC but the Fuji S1000fd has no firmware update.

If you find that the SDHC card is fine after all then I'd suggest contacting Fuji for a definite say so as to whether they know of any issues with 8GB SDHC compatibility.
