Question about Goodman GMS90703BXA Heater

1 Answer

Goodman furnace model GMS90703BXA, won't start. When power is connected, a clicking at about 1 per second comes from one of the two components on the circuit board labeled ZETTLER AZ942H-1C-18DT(206). I can't tell which one is clicking, and it may be both. I used an automotive stethoscope to try to determine which one is clicking, but I can't tell. The signal LED is steady.

Furnace comes on and ignites 2 seconds later in just shuts off.

you have a dirty flame sensor. turn the power off to the furnace. you will find a "single" wire under the burners connected to a porcelain base. unplug the wire. use a 1/4" nut driver. remove the screw holding in the sensor. gently pull out the sensor. clean the metal rod on the end with a fine grit sandpaper or fine steel wool. reinstall the sensor. turn the power back on. this should restore your heat

Furnace starts properly, then shuts down, led flashes 8 times

The first thing to look at is the flame sense rod.
Shut off power to the furnace, remove, clean sensor with steel wool or sandpaper then reinstall the sensor. Reapply power and it should run properly.
