Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies

2 Answers

Hi I have a Canon MP470. I have been scanning photos successfully when all of a sudden it stopped scanning. I've reset, I've turned it off etc and nothing works. I have a Mac OS X. I am using the MP Navigator to get the photos into iPhoto. Can you help me?

Tried your suggestion. It worked for two scans. Now it's doing the same thing. What's next?

I would recommend you uninstall and re-install the latest mac driver for your canon. you may download from here. before that, just make sure that all connections are ok and nothing physical is causing the problem. all should be resolved.

Regards

Hello,

You will have to reinstall the printer's scanner driver for it to scan again. The scanner driver software may have been corrupted or affected one way or the order, that's why its not scanning.

Disconnect the printer from your computer, uninstall the printer software/program from your computer's control panel, restart your computer, reinstall the printer software and try again.

If you don't have the printer driver, you can download it from the below link:

http://usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp470#DriversAndSoftware

If this doesn't solve the problem, please let me know so that I can direct you further.

Good luck.

    Hello

    Try the following steps below:

1.With printer OFF press and hold resume
2.while holding it down push and hold Power button
3.Release resume whilst still holding down power, the light should be green (not flashing)
4.Push resume once (orange) twice (Green)and a third time (orange)
    5.release power button.
6.Then power it off and on again after it's finished making any noises and settled down.

    OR

    1, Power off the printer
2, Unplug the printer's power cord, wait 5 seconds then replug the power cord in.
3, Hold the Power button for 6 Beeps
    4, Release the Power Button

This will reset the printer and might solve the problem.

    Take care.

I have my printer connected to a Toshiba laptop running Windows Vista. my scanner is a Canon MP470 and I don't have the manual. can you tell me how to scan with this printer.

To scan an image in Windows Vista, do the following:
Go to Start > All Programs > Windows photo Gallery > Select the File Tab and select Import from Camera or Scanner.
It's a bit slow starting...but it will scan for you.

If you are still experiencing problems then download the latest drivers from canon here for your printer/scanner:

My Canon MX850 has stopped scanning suddenly, after regular use. It tells me to wait, but nothing happens. I can't hear any mechanics working and if I lift lid, nothing is moving inside.

Uninstall the Canon driver and Cannon application software. Then it is a good idea to scan the whole system for viruses, malware and spyware as these can affect performance significantly. Next scan the system for un necessary drivers and applications etc. You can do this by using a free 30 day evaluation of Ashampoo from www.ashampoo.de that will check out the whole system and assist in removing all the unwanted junk, make sure that you clean the registry as well. I have been using this software for many years with great success in my workshop in improving system performance on many Windows operating systems. Also then do a full HD defragment - also available in the Ashampoo tool. Then when this is complete download all the applications and the driver from Canon Support.

Then retry the application and printing.

Canon MP470: "Print Head is not installed. Install Print Head"

Some printer brands have a cute scheme that reads a "new" cartridge as good, but the refilled one has a small fuse link that is burned out by the printer. Try factory new cartridges. Unplug the printer power for a bit to reset the printer.
