Hi if it is saying problem with removalbe drive G this will mean their is either problem with the lead.
If this is not the case then it is either your usb port or the unit itself you might find that the prot works fine but the computer is not recognising the sat nav.
have you installed this disk that came with the satnav on your comp this might be the problem try opening this programme before you plug satnav in.
The only other thing you could try is plugging it back in do you leave the satnav off whilst it is plugged into your comp.
When it is plugged in try using the tool search for new hardware run this file when it has finished look on the list and the satnav should be in this list.
If it is then you will need the disk that cam with the satnav select satnav from the list then select have disk put the disk in and try reinstalling the software that came with the satnav.
Are you sure that the port is working properly that you are trying to use.
Let me know how you get on ok

your isp makes no difference and garmin should not tell you this. All the information you need should be on that dvd you bought. My suggestion is to disconnect from the Internet, uninstall the nt 2009, restart your computer, then reinstall the program without reconnecting to the Internet. This has worked for me in the past. My email address is email@example.com. If you need further help, I'd be happy to help you.
Do a hard reset on the device. Download Garmin Express and install it to your PC. Connect your device to your PC. Garmin Express will identify it and allow you to install all the maps and software that the device has a subscription to.
you will need to install the usb driver which should be located on the 2008 disk. When you attach the gps to your computer it should ask where the usb driver is located. If your dvd drive is (D) click browse and go the disk and find usb driver folder. I have purchased the new 2008 disk and had problems with it freezing on loader loading. I then browsed the disk and downloaded and then was able to get to the maps. I did not install it due to it asking what map I want to download. I wanted the whole thing so needless to say I am taking it back to walmart. I hope this helps.
