Question about Refrigerators
I have a Kenmore Cold Spot refrigerator freezer #59592990. When you open up the front doors the lights come on, but neither the refrigerator or the freezer get cold. Any suggestions? At first the fridge was just doing defrost cycles (freezer side) now the fridge and freezer sides were warm when i woke up. wtf? before when it defrosted for too long or the freezer completely thawed, I just turned it off for a few sec.s and back on and it worked. do these fridges need to be charged w/ coolants, etc.???
I would look to the condenser where the heat is removed from the refrigeration system for your problem. Check and make sure the condenser fan operates, check the compressor for operation. If the condenser is plugged with dust it will cause the compressor to cycle on its thermal overload protector. Normally in back there is a removable panel to access the condenser and compressor area. make sure you reinstall the cover after you are done. It is critical to proper operation and cooling of the system.

Kenmore coldspot M# 106.56669500--side by side fridge side is not cold, freezer is fine-try to clean coils underneath poor access-compressor tank and copper lines to it are hot, fan is running-little box in upper left corner of fridge with vent and wires had some ice on it and dripping a little water.
