Region hack for Jamo DVR50 (DVR 50)

The Feb 2005 2.9.4 firmware upgrade for Jamo DVR 50 includes an advanced menu option accesible by the above method, that is:
Load (to eject the tray)
Info

Scroll to Region, Enter,
Select region (e.g. All, 1, 2, 3 etc)
Load (to exit the menu)

I had the same problem, I got into the menu but couldn't set the
region. Searching a little on the www I found the following guide to
hacking the region:

I used the "Method 1" flashing of the dvd drive, and after rebooting
the dvd player (power off/on) I was able to set the region in the menu
you get by the method above.

However after flashing the dvd drive the DVR-50 started behaving funny
(opening drawer, changing radio station, adjusting volume on its own).
I've tried to install the original firmware that you also can find at
this web site, but haven't yet found out wether this has cured the
problem.

I think you need to flash your dvd rom drive with a multiregion
firmware. Its the same as the Kiss dp450 I believe and its available
from www.scan.co.uk
