Danby dishwasher ddw 2406 bls-1 i am getting an error code 0004 and the machine will not run

the error code is 004 and the only spot there seems to be any water is in the reservoir where the salt is added . One other odd thing is the machine will stay on for sometime even when you open the dishwasher door. I can hear the pump running to empty the dishwasher and a small amount of water seems to be going through the drain pipe each time I cycle the machine on and off.

Hi,

Is it 0004 or 004?

I am aware of the error 004 which states :-

Error code 004 is caused by water being present in the bottom tray of the machine. There is not supposed to be any water there but if there is any the float switch is triggered. Get rid of the water source and the problem is fixed. On my machine the leak was in the feed pipe to the upper dish tray. I replaced the feed pipe and problem solved. Water could be leaking somewhere else however so you will have to find and fix the leak.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

Pull dishwasher from under the cabinet and look at right side of
machine, get a flash light pull the insulation away from machine stick
the light in look for the white little resovoir and the styrofoam float
switch.Siphon the 1/2 cup collection this allows the float in the attached cup to drop kicking the sensor out.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Electrolux dishwasher giving error code 1?

Good Morning Brian,

I understand that you are receiving an error code 1 on your Electrolux dishwasher, model# EWDW6505GS. Error 1 is stating that water has been detected underneath the tub. Check underneath your dishwasher by taking off the kick plate below the door. If you do not notice any water underneath the tub or any types of leaking, I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker for 20-30 minutes. When the time has passed, restore power, and run any cycle. If you are still receiving error code 1, I suggest you contact your local authorized technician for further assistance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Dishwasher: danby ddw1806bsl. Getting error code E4 "too much inlet water". How to fix that?

There is a tank with an overflow sensor on the right side of the dishwasher. The tank needs to be drained of water to reset the sensor. If necessary remove the insulation on the lower front corner of the machine and drain into a cup or container by removing the black rubber plug at the bottom of the plastic tank.
Consult the manual for detailed procedure.
The error can occur from excessive foaming.

Simple solution. DO NOT spend the money on a tech coming to the house.
This error code comes from getting too much water in your machine, either from a dish filled with water emptying, or perhaps a clog from the sink that prevents your machine from draining. It is meant to prevent overflows from too much water being in the tub. It is a simple fix though!
First of all you should at least shut the power off on your machine. For the effort of a couple of more steps, it wouldn't hurt to shut the breaker off at the fuse panel. You will have to unscrew the undercounter tabs that mount the dishwasher to the countertop. They are located just under the counter sticking out from the top of the dishwasher when the door is open. Then proceed to pull out the dishwasher from under the counter. You will only have to pull it out about half way and you will find the overflow valve. It is located on the right side of the dishwasher just under the insulation and level with the lower hinge on the door. (Right side when you are looking at the machine.)
There are two overflow valves. One looks like a small cup, the other looks like a cylinder with a float in it like your toilet. Both of them have black rubber covers near the bottom. Take these covers off and about a quarter cup of water will flow out of these overflow basins. Allow them to completely empty, then replace the rubber drain covers and then replace the unit under the counter.
Once you turn the power on, the error code should be cleared and you are ready to use the dishwasher again.
