Question about Sony Handycam DCR-TRV510 Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

Sony dcr trv 510

During playback I get short durations of digitizing or blocking. They appear to be random and seems to be an issue in playback only (sure it is not a recording problem) Cleaning heads doesn't help

I think you face this digitizing problem in old recorded cassettes.
If yes, your camera needs little adjustments of tape guides. There will be one guide lose. In technical, we call it Tape path adjustment.

no, its easy procedure, 1st you observe the location of digitizing effect on LCD viewer. If its on right side, adjust the Take-up guide, and if its on left side, adjust Reel guide.

I had problems with playback on mine, and solved the problem by giving it a good tap on the hand strap side of the camcorder.

Hope this helps.

Check the pinch roller. The retainer may have come off and the roller is riding up the shaft.

The noise is probably the motor running. As long as it doesn't appear on the footage, it's nothing to concern yourself about.
