Question about Televison & Video

Hi there, I have a remote control that worked fine until yesterday. I have tried to change batteries to no avail. I have tried the test with camera to figure out whether the remote controli is sending a signal. To my surprise, it does but it is a constant signal which stops only when I press a button. So the remote is sending the signal withouth the button being pressed. Can you please help?

My tv is not responding to any remotes and im not sure why as it worked fine until yesterday I have a the Hisense smart tv Model #40H5B

The infrared sensor inside the TV might be faulty. Check and replace it. Before replacing it, be sure that the remote controls you do check with it emit infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. In some cases, the remote control might need to clean.

Easy way to test the remote is to point it at a camera phone and press the button. You should see a purple dot if the remote is working.

I have a JWIN VD519 DVD player that has worked fine till this evening. The remote suddenly stopped responding even after changing for new AAA duracell batteries. Nothing has been spilt on the remote...

Hello

you can test your remote with a mobilephone camera like this:

open camera on the phone an hold the remote front against the camera

(approx 10cm from it) press a button and look in the display on the phone.

if the controller works you should se a blue light in the display coming from the remote front.

if no light: try other batteries again note the battery polarity. no light= controller broken.

if there is light= the remote is working. try to disconnect power from the DVD for a few minutes,

and try again. if it still not works the player is propably broken.

Good Luck

Remote is totally dead as if there are no batteries in it. Put in tested new batteries, no result. Opened up the remote and inspected all the solder joints and power lines from the battery to the circuit...

This only takes about a minute and will restart 1 in 3 "Dead" Original Remote Controls.

Step 1- Pull the batteries out of the remote and leave them out until Step 4.

Step 2- Press and release each and every button one at a time on the remote control until every button has been pressed and released at least once!

Step 3- If your remote has slide switches, you must move the switch to
each position then repeat the button pushing in Step 2.
(When you're done, be sure to put the slide switch in the correct position to operate the unit the remote came with!)

Step 4- Put the batteries back into the remote, being very careful to install them correctly.
New batteries should be used if you're not sure about the old ones.

Step 5- Try the remote.

Special Note:

If you have a digital camera, camcorder or camera phone you can test the remote to see if it is emitting a signal. Face the remote towards the lens of the digital unit until you can see the front of the remote. Depress any button on the remote. You should see a light (steady, blink or flashing) being emitted from the remote.
If you do then the problem might not be the remote but the sensor on the set.

Try the controls on the set if available to verify the set works. If you need another remote, you can try sites like eBay, www.remotes.com etc.

My remote control stopped working

try with simple test. with any camera (mobile) check for any light (infrared light is not visible, only cameras see the infrared light) in front remote control, while press a key, if a flashing light deteted the remote control is ok, and the problem maybe on remote function is selected, normaly using tv and select VCR or AUX, may occur this problem. or a defective receiver sensor.

Control seems to be working but unit not responding.

Check your remote control by using a camera or cellphone camera as your eyes to confirm if the remote control is ok. Point the remote control transmitter to your camera and check if a light emits in your remote control transmitter. If no light then the remote control is defective, but if the light is present then the remote is ok and the unit receiver board itself is defective.

Check also if there is a reset or rst button on the remote control, press the button and test the remote.

Bose 321 remote control not working

You can test a remote control using these methods:-

Method 1 - If you have AM, Medium Wave radio then set the tuning off a channel and press the remote control buttons. If there is a change in sound, higher and/or lower tones the remote is working.
If not check the batteries are charged and fitted correctly.

Method 2 - If you have a digital camera with nightshot, wait until it's dark turn off the lights and turn the camera to nightshot. Aim it at the remote in the dark and focus then press the butoons. Look at the led light is there any change/flashing on the end of the led.

This will confirm it is the remote control and a replacement is required, or batteries need changing
