Thanks for the response. No ice on the dehumidifier, temp is above 65, and humindity is high. Do you know whether the condenser might have a reset switch?

Dehumidifier works great. Replaced an old unit with this one. Has removed a ton of moisture from the air. Maintains a comfortable temperature in our basement too. Easy setup.

Most dehumidifiers have a "Frost Guard" mounted on the condensor coil. If frost accumulates on the condensor coil the frost guard turns the compressor off until the frost melts, then comes back on again. For the dehumidifier to work properly, the surrounding (ambient), temperature must be higher than 65 degress. This temperature allows the moisture in the air to condense on the coils and drip into the reservoir without freezing up on the condensor coil. Also, if the humidity is too low, (below 45%), the same condition will occur. So it will help to keep the parameters in mind when you have this issue.

Thank you for your allowing me to advise you on this issue.

Ok, If the parameters are met and the fan and compressor is running, the you would have insufficent freon , possibly due to a leak, or a weak compressor.

It is making a lot of noise. Still seems to work.

I get this complaint a few times a month , what I usually find is that the circulation fan has a build up of fuzzy lint on the blades and it throws the fan out of balance (hence the noise) a soak in a warm water/soap solution usually takes care of it , disassembly is required for this , I usually charge two hours labor for this

Everything works great except the fan. Fan won't turn on at all. Any recommendations?

Check the power to the fan motor or capacitor. One or the other needs to be changed.

The freon in the unit is low. You probably have a leak.

Power s on unit doesnt run no fan nothing

Mosr dehumidifiers have a switch that shuts the unit off when the water tank is full check this float to make sure it is not stuck in the off position also empty the tank if it is full.Hope this helps.

Why does the fan run non stop? the compressor runs and shuts off but the fan just runs on high and low. I have 3 other dehumidifiers that the fan runs only when the compressor runs...why doesnt the...

Depending on the time sequence you have this unit set to run, Fredrich's are designed so that the fan runs almost constantly, to keep the air moving. When it senses a rise in humidity above the level you have it set on, the compressor turns ON and runs until the level of humidity is lowered. This is especially true, if you are operating this unit in continual mode.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
