I have a gilmour 193spb polymer impulse sprinkler. It won't rotate anymore by itself. If I turn it to one side it will rotate to the other side, but wont trip to rotate back automatically.

Yea. Join the club. One day you and I both might purchase a better sprinkler. That way it might be worth the cost of a gallon of CLR (calcium/lime/rust remover) to soak them in which should fix the problem.
We could have/should have, but might never blow them out to remove all water remains before storing them for the winter.

I have a Gilmour sprinkler that has a metal head impulse. The stand it sits on can be folded up or out depending on the support you need. I've had the sprinkler for about a year and it was working fine...

The striker / splasher sounds like it was tweaked. This part is the piece that normally swings back and forth, in and out of the water path. If this is not able to move relatively freely, then the head will not be forced to move.

On the same note, if the stop rings have become tweaked, they may be binding on the head, or the stop arm that folds down.

I am surprised, there just isn't much that can be affected just be grabbing the head on this unit.

If it doesn't work out and you can't get it going, the head is replaceable. It will spin on off so that another head can go on in its place, preferably another Gilmor.

If I have helped you, please rate accordingly. Otherwise, I will not get paid. Thanks for using Fixya.

I need assistance with properly setting the water flow, range, and rotation of the 993hps Gilmour Impulse sprinkler and the 967hzs Impulse Spike Base Sprinkler. There were not directions with the products...

For some simple instructions check out the "additional information" section at If your sprinkler doesn't rotate, ensure that you haven't lowered the water pressure by opening another faucet elsewhere. My sprinkler doesn't rotate as freely as it did when it was new, but it probably just needs to be taken apart and cleaned and greased.

Sprinkler head does not spray water

Make sure when you pull the head to ck the screen you turn the system on and blow out the line, then run a hose through the head to make sure it isn't plugged up anyway. Depending on the head and the cost of a new one will dictate cleaning or replacement.

Impulse sprinklers stick after cloclwise rotation; no return

i wouldbet it is a pressure related problem , can you isolate them so you are only running 1 at atime? at least reduce the number of sprinklers running at the same time just to test them, drop the number by1or2 and i`m sure your problem will be fixed youdoit
