My down-shift flipper works not good. When I shift down one time It shifts 2, 3 or 4 gears down. Up-shift is OK

The micro switch is malfunctioning. You can call a local electronics company and they should be able to repair the switch.

I down shifted into 2nd gear while slowing down on a bumpy hill and my gear grinded hard. Now my 1988 Isuzu 4x4 pickup won't go into 2nd gear. All other gears are OK.


check shifter linkage --then either damaged gear,syncro,or shaft for the latter will need to open the unit --change fluid and look for fillings or metal

take bottom pan off clean out your pressure sensor .. tends to get mini metl flakes caught up in there wich is also a bad sign that your tranny is going out but this will buy you atleast another 2 to 3 months

Shifting gears wont go, it wont get in or fit right on the dot


? Que? Do you mean that it doesn't select or move freely? Gets too notchy maybe? Has this car done alot of miles? Or just a good lot of gear shifts? All Diahatsu and Yaris have horrible gear selections.. what you COULD do is strip down the gear shift, check the ball on the end of the shifter for scoring, put in a decent grease (into the ball reccess) or sometimes there is heavy wear on the metal part of the shifter, just above the ball, if so, weld back up or if no welder try chemical metal. This will also have the effect of a shorter gear change. ok?

The gears on a motorcycle run in this order: first, neutral, second, third, fourth and fifth. When you are moving, shifting up from first gear will skip over neutral and shift you right into second gear. The only time that shifting up from first will get you into neutral is when you are not moving.

Pull in the clutch lever and tap the gear lever down until it stops. This will signify first gear. Pressing the gear lever down will shift you down one step and pressing it up will shift up one step.

Tap the gear lever up one click while still holding in the clutch. This will put the bike into neutral.

Start the bike. The bike needs to be in neutral to start.

Hold in the clutch lever and tap the shifting lever down to shift to first gear.

Release the clutch slowly and give it just enough gas to get moving.

Listen to the motor to know when you need to shift. If the engine is making a low grumbling noise, then it will need to be shifted down. If it is making a high squealing noise, then it needs to be shifted up.

Ok i fixed all the other problems but now the clutch is messing up it shifts gears just fine but when i put into first gear its like im not even holding the clutch in the bike just wants to go even wh


clutch is out of adjustment. When you shifted down did you speed shift down or use the clutch. Maybe then clutch cable broke, or even worse internal clutch damage or bent shifting fork. If you can shift thru all your gears than shifting forks good. Than its a clutch only problem. But still can be internal damage. Good luck

Are you sure your fluid level is correct? When they don't shift until warmed up,that is usually dirt or low fluid.
I would get a coupla cans of SEA-FOAM trans. treatment,NOT the motor treatment. Follow directions and sit in the car shifting it thru all gears many times. Take it out on freeway and kick it down to make it shift down and let up suddenly to make it upshift. Do this several times.
If it starts working for you,do a filter/fluid change really soon. I have saved them this way,but it's about 50/50 that you'll need a PROPER rebuild or replacement.There is dirt in there somewhere or the pump is giving up on you. don-ohio

Do all the other gears work fine? Shift point at the right time? 1 to 2, 2 to 3, What speed does it shift 1 to 2 at light throttle? These are good for having stuck TV valves or broken TV cables. Does it **** when it shifts or when you put it in gear?

2nd gear clutching


STOP Downshifting!
STOP Forcing gear change, watch the Engine RPMs and shift accordingly, HOMBRE's are as good as the operator's. Hombre's have dash shift indicators which illuminate when it's time to 'shift' and not before, This has nothing to do with gear oil either. If you've drained it, you best fill it immediately and make sure it's ample level. The heat these gears sustain in is inceredible, cooling lubricant is essential. Here's a tip, while engine is OFF, ignition key is engaged, dash is illuminated, depress clutch peddle, keep it depressed and walk through all gears with gear shift, shifting should be smooth and unpeded, including reverse. If resistance is experienced at one or more gears, gear alignment is off as a result of inproper gear shifting while driving. Continue to drive vehicle just shift slower until clutch needs replacement then do an entire drive shaft upgrade. It worth it, it's great truck.
