Wont read any game or dvd. it reads for about 5 sec. then says "open tray"

your dvd board is damaged, therefore resulting in your xbox reading it as a dvd. it's the same thing with it saying open tray, except that your dvd board might be reading it wrong. try to spin the spinner while closing the tray. it might work, but if you want to get it fixed correctly i would want to send it in if i was you. and spin it like 5-10 times if it doesnt work the first 2-3.

your x box's door laser might have dust around it

Your PS2 laser is wearing out. When the laser starts to go, first games will skip... then eventually the PS2 will stop reading DVDs altogether. If you keep using it to read CDs, it will eventually stop reading those too and the laser will die altogether. i think u need to buy a new xbox 360 because mine did the same thing and the 3 red rings came

it sounds like your dvd drive is dead if its still under warranty you should just send it back to microsoft the only other thing you could do is buy a replacement dvd drive and put it in yourself but only do that if microsoft wont take it or you'll void your warranty

common xbox flaw mine does the same ,just keep opening and closeing the tray till it reads the disk,this can be very annoying .your dvd tray is probally on the way out
