Question about Frigidaire FRS6R5ESB

1 Answer

Water leaks out from underneath the fridge. Does not seem to be coming from anywhere inside the fridge/freezer as nothing is wet/leaking. Only happens periodically--a sudden gush once a day or every other day.

If the water is outside of the fridge is from two possible cases.

First from the water pipe line, sometimes from under the freezer door where the pipe enter for the ice maker and water dispenser or on the back lower part from near the solenoid valve. You can confirm if it is from water pipe line by shut off the water mains for one day and check if there is any lack or not.

Second case is from water pan under in the compressor compartment on the back side of the fridge if you had too much water from defrost then this might not be able to evaporate before the new melting water fill the pan and it overflow. Check the pan and if it is full use a sponge and remove all the water. There is also the possibility the pan has been break and is leaking.

We have also a link with the parts layout of your fridge which will help you identify the parts in your fridge.

How do I stop freezer from leaking water

A drain plug is a small hole inside your fridge to allow for moisture to escape. The reason its leaking water is because its not cooling the water to ice or its defrosting the ice to water. make sure the door closes shut and turn it up a bit as it has been very hot recently

1996 Frigidaire Fridge/Freezer.... The fridge is leaking underneath suddenly, soaking a full sized towel every 2 hours. The water rung out of the towels is slightly brownish in color. No leaks can be...

I'd check the water supply line to the fridge. If kinked of damaged, may be the source of the leak (make sure that the the connection point to the building's cold water pipe isn't leaking - and simply running down the supply line to the fridge!)

Of course, it could be a cracked solenoid valve (turns water on and off when the ice maker calls for water for ice), loose or broken clamp, broken filter (if equipped), etc. All these connection points in the water supply lines should be visible.

Unplug the fridge as soon as you can reach it before working on a wet floor with live electricity.

Please rate my reply if it was helpful - good luck!

Water leaking from underneath. Not currently

This could be a blocked drain.Behind the fridge is a hose/pipe running from the inside of the fridge down to the compressor where the water will then evaporate. If this pipe is blocked, the water will push up back into the fridge.Try to blow the hose clean from inside the fridge. This should solve your problem.

Water setteling on bottom of freezer side and freezing also leaking. 2 fridges both doing the same thing . leaking on the inside and freezing and underneath water is leaking.

Clean out the defrost drain. There is a drain in the freezer that lets all the defrost water run under the fridge. If that gets clogged then all the water runs into the freezer and can even leak onto the floor

Water leaking from underneath fridge

If you have a ice maker inside your freezer, check where the water connects to the back. I think you will find a leaking connection. Tighten connection to fix the leak.

Fridge constantly dripping wet

water inside, too much condensation from humid air entering fridge from bad seals. replace the seals. could also be that the condensate drain is clogged. if it's leaking from the bottom of the fridge, make sure the tubing is still inside the condensate pan underneath the fridge.

Refridgerator Leaks

I can't find this model number anywhere and am unfamiliar with the "Evolution" series. However, if it is a top/bottom unit (freezer on top, fridge on bottom) it sounds like you have a clogged drain.

If you pull the back panel off inside of the freezer (where the evaporator is housed) you will see a drain hole, usually in the rear center) that is probably full of ice. If this drain is plugged, it will cause the water to back up into the refrigerator, usually onto the top shelf or under the veggie bins, and possibly onto the floor.

You need to clear it out, and make sure that water flows through it freely, to the pan underneath the unit. The best way to do this is with a hair dryer and a copper wire, but be careful not to melt the inside of the freezer with it. When it's clear, you might want to take a hose and blow through it to make sure there's nothing trapped inside.

Please let me know if you need any further help with this issue.

Water leak

What's happening is when the fridge goes into defrost water goes thru the drain and is seeping into the crack by the damper which will run into the fridge section.  Why?  The drain doesn't come down far enough for all the water to go down the drain tube.  Frigidaire has a new drain that is longer and will prevent this problem.
