We just hooked up new dell vostro 230 computers and the cord from my hp laserjet 2100tn does not have the right adapter, what do I do?? Thanks - Sher

You cna either hook the printer up to your home network, that's what the n at the end of the model number means, or you can purchase one of these Parallel Port to USB connectors

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007UVRVO/ref=asc_df_B0007UVRVO1453101?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=pg-473-95-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395093&creativeASIN=B0007UVRVO

Those are unfortunatly your only options.

I just got a new dell. i've hooked my old hp

1. Try to connect this printer to your PC by ETHERNET cable as opposed to USB 2.0 and see if it speeds up.

2. If it speeds up we know it isn't necessarily the printer giving the problem

3. Now we start to look at the cable. Use a brand new cable to attach it to the PC. If it persists it may very well be the USB port on the Printer itself.

4. To test the port, attach it to another PC and if it speeds up as u expect, then it is not the USB port on the Printer

5. Now it's time to check the Printer Software on the new Dell and fiddle with it a bit accordingly.

Solution
If it is that u cannot get it to speed up by USB and it works well by Ethernet, just use Ethernet to connect it and call it a day

What type of cable box are you using? Hope it's not the standard old school box. If you have an HDMI hook up, that should do the trick. Buy the cord and hook it up to your tv and box.

You can almost buy a new printer for the cost of the adapter you are talking about buying. They have all kinds of adapters: the kind that connects to the flat end of a USB or the square end. Parallel, male or female. Go to a computer store like best buy, they should be able to hook you up.

Hope this helps.

Need a cord to connect OLD computer to NEW printer

You can take the cord to Radio Shack and get a 24 pin serial dongle to 9 pin dongle. take a picture of the back of the computer and of the cable if you have and they can find an adapter for you. Thanks for using fix-ya and rate this if it was helpful.

Power problem

According to the owners manual: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/PRN942/en/om/942_om_en.pdf The power connector is next to the USB connector in the back of the printer. You use the AC adaptor to hook up the printer to a wall outlet to give it power and then the USB Cable is hooked up to the computer so you can install the printer software to the computer so it recognizes the printer.

Hook Up possible for EPSON Stylus 880 to new computer w/USB ?

There is no conversion cable that you can use with parallel connector since USB transfers data in Serial mode and the parallel cable handles data in Parallel mode.

Sorry.
