Question about Philips 60PP9401 60" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Mystery dot Woke up this morning and noticed a black mark on my tv screen (probably about the middle and bottom third of it) that I hadn't seen before. At first thought it was just dirt on the screen but on attempting to clean it, seems to be on the inside! Any ideas on what the black dot may be and/or how I might get rid of it..?

Its most likely dead pixels. This generally happens over a course of time. If its not too big that it irritates you, you could possibly let it go. Otherwise, it could call for a service job.

Small red dot in center of 53" Hitachi projection tv

hi, not good news it`s probably a burn in on your red crt (picture tube), tv has to have back completely removed, which means top and bottom covers, (carefull with the top cover it`s heavier than u think, has mirror bolted to inside), turn on tv just long enough to light up all 3 crt`s to identify the red one, turn set off & look into red lens,(may need flashlight) if you see any black specks in center of tube it`s burnt and has to be replaced, be advised u will see gnats, ect. inside but your looking for specific speck, if no visible burn mark have tv man come out, otherwise it`s very pricey, hope this helps and not crt, video-tek

Mitsubishi wd52525 problems

i have thought about this since you first posted it. if the demo is good then the light engine is ok. it sounds like a problem in the chassis. probably on the DM and the terminal board. to repair the chassis would cost about $250.00 plus shipping.

Probably the optics block. It needs to be replaced.

However, it looks like you're in luck. Sony will reimburse you.

Problem with wacthind dvd in full screen and black dot on screen

Not sure I understand the half of the tv and half of the dvd player. Are you saying about mid way of your set is cut off and like the bottom half you have a picture and the top no picture? I can explain the dot, first you can open back of set and maybe take off hole back bezel. Get where you can put your head down in front of C R T's (tubes) and look down in them and see if you see the same thing in one or all three of the tubes. If so this explain the dot. The half problem sounds like vertical is missing. Not sure yet! Need feed back
