Hello there, I can help you with this for sure. To delete songs / files from this device simply use the USB cable that came with it, plug it into your computer and as long as you are running windows, go to START then My Computer. The device will show up here, probably as a new drive letter (Drive E: for example, not sure what it will be on yours, but you will see it there). Go into the device there. You may have to go into the folders on the device, but they should be easy to navigate. Probably a folder called MUSIC or something like that. It may not even have folders, all songs may just be right in the first place you go where you click on the device. Find the songs you are looking for on the list there, just highlight them and hit DELETE on your keyboard. It will pop up asking you if you are sure, hit YES or OK... and they will be deleted.

Please make sure you rate my answer 4 thumbs up, it is extremely important to me. I would be forever grateful if you could do so. If you need more help on this question please just respond to my answer here and I will get right back to you.

Thanks
Tim

I did that. It shows nothing in any folder. Yet, I power the device on and there are 69 songs which still play. I tried going in to reset all to factory defaults, but can't seem to get that to work.

Ok thanks for replying :) I will research this a bit, if anything we may be able to do a full reset to wipe everything out (which may be what you are trying). If it still shows the songs then it sounds like the memory on that unit is having problems. I will confirm though, give me like 5 minutes here to check something on it and I will write back.

I just thought of something as well, for some reason it may be marking them as hidden files... What version of Windows are you using, and do you know how to check for hidden files?

One more thing to try is hook it to your computer, open windows media player (as long as you have a fairly new version of it) and it will detect the player. It should see the same music files the player sees in here, where you can select them and delete them. Give that a try and let me know!

Deleteing songs

Use Windows Media Player - you must delete them from the computer by selecting the mp3 player - you cannot delete them from the Mp3 player itself.

PROBLEME OF MEMORY.

My Sandisk Sansa m240 lost all the songs and then I could not delete them. I was able to laod up new songs, but there was no spare memory. I was able to fix this issue by re-formating.

Using windows explorer right click on the "Sandisk sansa M240" and click "format".

Now working OK.

Can't delete songs

Go to Windows Media Player under the Sync tab, over on the far left should be the name of the player, click on it and find the name of the song by album title, artist, or whatever, click on the title and click delete and you should be able to delete any song you like without deleting them all

You need to connect it to a PC then it should show up as a removable storage device. You may then delete or copy tracks to is like any disk drive. If you are unsure how to do this then please comment. Hope this helps, plese rate my answer as better than thanks for trying.
