I need french manuals for my chain saw model 235 and registration quick start guide is english only

If you have followed all of the manual instructions for starting the saw, take the saw back to where you got it and ask for a replacement under warranty.

Hi Dave:
If you hold the bar nose up when adjusting and tightening the bar, then I think your saw is like detail A here (may not be your saw):

Configure it like detail B and the problem is solved. I did a quick search for item 16 (<$25) and available. You also need item 14 (2 each, $1±), and a scrench ($10± at a local saw store after you get the bar nuts).

See Detail A or B (same pn), pn 503 057940. You can use a Crescent Wrench on one of the ears (left end) to reset it. With the cover positioned with pn 503 057940 in the upper left rotate it CW until it nests, to reset it.

If you do not have a vise a large C clamp to a work surface might work, you may still need a block or two of wood.

Husqvarna International has no 317**. There is a 316E. I downloaded and opened the IPL (using instructions above) for a 2003-08. There are only 2 logical parts that can cause a jam on a 316:
Detail B, on the right end of 508 04 36-42 (motor), is a spiral cut gear, not listed separately.
Detail D, 508 04 37-02, a second spiral cut gear.
It appears the right side of the motor housing is held in place by 7 fasteners. Removing them should provide access and allow inspection of any gear train. It will also likely void any warranty. Good Luck
