Charger for T6510

After using my T6510 radio for the first time, the charger base stopped working. Is there someplace I can buy a new base?

  • Anonymous Jun 26, 2008

My radio seems to be at a 1/4 charge and the base red light goes on when I install the radios but it does not raise my battery power at all.

The back unit of charger will not charge radio?

common. The contacts are dirty most likely. Unplug the charger, get a small piece of fine or extra fine sandpaper and lightly sand the metal wires you see. They will bend, that is normal. So, slow and careful. Still not working? (also common). The charger base or the charger AC adapter may be bad. If you have another charger, switch the wall adapters. If the base if base, you could try to take it apart and re soldier it yourself, but if it got wet, the game is over. Go to a used donation place, such as the Goodwill to get replacements. They are not sold new without a radio. Also, try another radio in the "bad" charger, it could be the contacts on the back of the radio need cleaning.

Is there any replacement for the rubber outer housing on my Motorola T6510 radios?

Replacement parts were never made available for the TalkAbout radios (other than the higher wattage TalkAbout Distance and Distance DPS). Your options are replace the radios, or watch for used radios for parts on ebay and other similar websites.

Motorola MH230R 23-Mile Range 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radio

To the best of our knowledge the charging base and cord come together as a set. You can contact Giant Intl (who manufactures them for Motorola) and get replacements: 1-800-638-5119, [email protected]

My charger for my Motorola T6510 is not charging. The charger is getting power.

Check your battery contacts, both on the radio and the charger. Clean with a pencil eraser if needed. It is possible you are not getting good contact. If both radios are not getting charged in a dual well charger, you may have a problem with either the wall adapter or the base. (Assuming your batteries are good.) Wall adapters burn out over time, somewhat like a light bulb.

Replacements are available at the Motorola online store. http://www.store.motorola.com/2-Way-Radio-Rechargeable-Battery-Upgrade/dp/B003H0FUD2?ie=UTF8&id=2-Way%20Radio%20Rechargeable%20Battery%20Upgrade&field_availability=-1&field_launch-date=-1y&field_browse=2265964011&searchSize=12&searchPage=1&searchNodeID=2265964011&refinementHistory=brandtextbin%2Csubjectbin%2Ccolor_map%2Cprice%2Csize_name&searchRank=salesrank This kit contains a pair of new batteries and a complete charger.

I don't have the supply power cord for T6510 charger

I do believe it is a 9 volt charger. Look under the battery cover and it will say how many volts. It is probably 9 volts. Just have to find a 9 volt charger with the same plug as you have. Or contact Motorola for new one. Possibly E-bay

Here is the manual for the T6500-T6550. It should also be the manual to your T6510. http://www.giantintl.com/ContentManage/manuals/Moto/T65xx.pdf
