My TomTomGo is on all the time.

  • NarlaP Jun 29, 2008

Yup. I did the same thing.  Didn't think I needed to back up until I was finished updating and voila! No more maps! (That is besides Guam)

It's Saturday night and I've owned it for about 3 hours.  No telephone support until Monday.

The map of the US and Canada is 70 bucks.  Do I have to pay this or is there a map somewhere that I can download?

    Thanks in advance.

PS  I will always back up BEFORE I do anything else.

I am very sorry to hear that you had no backup. Theres no way you can recover data once you have deleted it from an sd card. BUT , If you still have the authorisation card ( thats the one that generates the activation code ) then you might be able to copy data from another tomtom card to your card then reactivate it with the authorisation card. GOOD LUCK.

Could you say it clearly? You mean you lost contacts on iPhone 6, right? Don't worry. If you have previous backup on your iTunes or iCloud, then you can easily restore your photos from backups.

If you don't have backups, maybe iMyfone D-Back can help you, it allows you to recover data from iTunes, iCloud backup or iPhone directly. You can download it for free scan and see whether it can retrieve your contacts. Good luck!

If you were signed in with your Google account, you can login and locate the phone on a map Using the Android Device Manager: HERE. This only works if the phone is still turned on and still logged into your Google account.

Sim card has been deleted and I cant recover my contacts.

The sim card only can hold a limited amount of contacts, so please check the memory if you can recover your data. Not knowing what phone you have, I'm not sure I can help you by telling how to do that, but perhaps you can google for that part.

I paid for a new up grade for U.S. Maps for my Tom Tom 720. IIt would not down load because of not enough space. When I turn the GPS back on. it was set on another country Gaum. How do I get it off?

Tom do not seem to overwrite the existing map file. So before trying to install the map, you need to delete the folder that contains the map. (It is important to read the next part before you delete the map folder). Once you have connected your TomTom to the computer, close the TomTom home window. Double click on my computer. You will see the TomTom hard drive as a drive (like you see the CD drive). Double click on that . Once the folders of the TomTom hard drive opens, look for a folder named USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P. (Please note: this name is for American continent. For others, this name will be different). Right click on it. click properties. Check whether the size of this folder is approximately around 1.3 GB to 1.5 GB. This is just to make sure we have the correct folder. After confirming this is the map folder, copy this folder to your computer for back up purpose. Once you have it safely in your computer, delete this folder from the TomTom hardrive. Go back to TomTom homesoftware. Use the map guarantee to update/Upgrade the new map. You will see this time around the installation completes without a problem.

Lost maps off garmin nuvi 660

Please delete any MP3 files or extra vehicle icons on your Nuvi. The map file is 1 GB in size. There is a possibility that your Nuvi's directory is corrupted and/or there are hidden garbage files on the directory that are taking up your storage space. You can look for these using windows explorer but don't delete anything if you don't know what you are doing.

Lost the predownloaded Map

If you delete maps without backing them up, there's nothing you can do, but you can put maps back on by connecting to TomTom Home if they have been saved, otherwise you'll need to download and install new maps here
