Question about Stanley Bostitch Coil Framing Nailer

1 Answer

I just bought a used Bostitch Coil Nailer. 3 1/4" nails work fine but the 2" nails will not keep feeding.

Check the spacing of the nail collation between the two nail sizes and also the spacing of the copper wires. Some nailers have a different setting for the check paws on the latch door to compensate for the thinner nails (too much clearance between the latch door and body of gun). Check manual at www.bostich.com for proper setting of check paws between nail types. Good luck

My RN45 roofing nailer won't feed the nails I fully rebuilt it thought that was the problem, no luck same problem. Any suggestions Thanks

In our experience with RN45 feed problems it almost always has to do with the small piston on the side of the nose that moves the feed paw. Make sure all the parts and o-rings are in the cylinder properly and that the feed paw moves in its track freely. If you bought a rebuild kit it should show you how it goes together properly, if not go to www.ereplacementparts.com or http://servicenet.bostitch.com and search for your model number for a breakdown of your nailer and make sure the feed cylinder is assembled properly.

BOSTITCH T31-1 stapler & T31-2 STAPLER and NAILER. Both use 18 gauge (very fine gauge wire). Try using 18 gauge Bostitch staples (used in BT model bostitch staplers). Good Luck

I bought a used Bostitch nail gun. Model/serial # N6408406208021. What parts do I change to go from a 1 1/2 inch nail (approx. #6) to a 3 inch nail (approx. #16)? Where do I get the parts?

I do not think that the n64 will take a 3" nail. N64 will most likely fit a 2 or 2 1/2 inch. To verify the length of nail open latch door and measure the width of the slot into the barrel. Take a look at the bostitch n80 series of nailers for more power and longer nail.

My N12 stops feeding after every 2 or 3 nail.

could be a few problems, are you using the right nails with the proper collation. is the magazine set correctly for the nail size, is the piston retracting fully to advance the next nail, and is the feed pawl spring broken and or is the feed pawl moving freely, to check the last one remove all nails and open the door that would guide the nails and fire the tool and look at the feed mechanism to make sure working properly, sometimes the bumper starts to disintegrate and pieces get stuck in the air hole controlling the feed. Let me know if you need more clarification or help

My bostitch rn46 seems to double or triple shoot nails frequently. Am I not using the tool properly or could there be a mechanical problem with the tool?

if u are right nails for gun, then make sure when u put coil in and feed in front of firing pin the nails are straight with pin and connecting wires are not bent causing nails to fall out of alingnment.

Stanley Bostitch Coil Framing nailer blows head off of nail?

Make sure that when you run with one gun that your psi is between 90-110. You may need a kit. Is it an RN45 or 46? Go to Stanley Bostitch online and look up parts and schematics. Kits should only be about 15-20 dollars, easy to put in, and come with instructions. Lemme know. Please rate me

Problem accessing nails

Hi, No you can't. They are two different feeds. The F33 uses tape feed and the N79 uses stick feed. The N79 is a basic wood frame nailer that uses 3 to 3 1/4 sticks, while the F33 uses up to 2 1/2 paper feed. The stick nails are the most common for the older nailers and on the box look for Bostitch as the brand to fit, as the N79 was sold under that brand not Stanley. This should Fixya!
