Normal 0 Go to Control Panel and click on the Mouse icon. Then the mouse properties will appear showing the mouse buttons. In the Left column is the button settings. The bottom one is the Right Button, which is set for Magnify. Whenever you hit the Right Side button the magnifier will turn on. To turn it off, hit the Right Side Button and off it goes. You can change any of the button settings by clicking on the drop down.
Hope this helps. Bud

My old but still good keyboard worked last night but not this morning .. i changed batteries but no luck .. is there an off / on

there may be an on/off switch, but to start with, see if the keyboard works in another computer, if it does, you blew the bus on the PS/2 I'm guessing you have, the end with like a star pattern on the inside of the connector

Why doesn't keyboard work?

Electronics dont do very well when they get wet. i would take it apart and dry it out with a hair dryer. All you have to do is take the screws out on the back and pop the 2 halves apart. You do have to be careful. once it;s apart you will see why it was;nt working. good luck

I have a gateway keyboard ku-0833 and its working fine but I spilt a little coffee on it and a few of the keys are stiff to push. Is there a way I can clean it, tried using cotton swabs around the keys but...

You can pry out the keys using a butter knife and use rubbing alcohol to clean the underneath.

if the coffee got into the connectors you might be out of luck.

**THE FOLLOWING IS NOT RECOMMENDED**
When i spilt mt dew on my keyboard i took out the battery let it decharge for 5 minutes. I put it in a pan and poured rubbing alcohol on it and let it sit for 5 min. While it was sitting i swished the alcohol around a little bit so it could flow. took it out and let it dry for about 1-2 hours and it worked perfectly. this is orta used as a last resort

Hi,
Did you or anyone else spilled anything on them? Do you have a pet that may stepped on your keyboard?
What you can do is to take out on of the problematic keys. Disconnect from power and use a small ruler to pop the key out. See if anything is under there. Maybe hair or food. Do not shake your laptop as this can lead to other problems. Get a dry cloth and clean the key base and underneath the key. Reinsert the key and try it again. If this works do the same for the other keys.

Check to be sure the number lock key is not on.

If you feel somewhat technical you can check the internal connection on the keyboard to be sure it is seated properly.

Has someone poured your keyboard a cup of coffee? Ask the kids.. give them a serious face so they fess up.

If all else fails send it to ACER if it is still under warranty. If not, the keyboard can be purchased online from $40-70 dollars. With a typical installation fee you are looking at @ $175 repair fee. (barring the motherboard being the culprit)

Hope this helps.

Microsoft's keyboards are notoriously susceptible to this -- it seems like sneezing on them will damage them. I went through several of these keyboards, even attempting careful repair, before hanging it up. Not good news, I'm afraid -- I suggest Logitech products which my students can't even break.

You could try removing the keys out of the keyboard and cleaning it with a damp cloth and a can of compressed air. If the tea hit the circuitry of the board though you may have to get a new one.
