Normal 0 Go to Control Panel and click on the Mouse icon. Then the mouse properties will appear showing the mouse buttons. In the Left column is the button settings. The bottom one is the Right Button, which is set for Magnify. Whenever you hit the Right Side button the magnifier will turn on. To turn it off, hit the Right Side Button and off it goes. You can change any of the button settings by clicking on the drop down.
Hope this helps. Bud

Why doesn't keyboard work?

Electronics dont do very well when they get wet. i would take it apart and dry it out with a hair dryer. All you have to do is take the screws out on the back and pop the 2 halves apart. You do have to be careful. once it;s apart you will see why it was;nt working. good luck

Tip

Spilled liquid on Keyboard!

1. Purchase plastic keyboard cover. 2. Keep coffee etc. anywhere not near keyboard.

For spill, unplug keyboard. If non sugar liquid, invert keyboard, shake or tap gently. Wipe with lent free absorbent cloth while still inverted. If soda or coffee with sugar, pour 1/4 cup of clear clean (distilled the best) water onto keyboard (yes), Then invert. Let dry a minimum of several hours still inverted. I cheat with a hairdryer on low 6-12 inches. After keyboard is completely dry (and cool). Plug in after turning computer off, restart, test all keys, including shift, option etc. If keys miss or don't work buy new keyboard and cover! Aloha, Cliff

Tip

HOw to Clean your keyobard effectively

Keyboard cleaningIf you're trying to clean a laptop keyboard see document CH000780 for additional help and information. All of the below information applies to standard desktop computer keyboards.
Why? Dirt, dust and hair can build up causing the keyboard to not function properly.
Procedure: Many people clean the keyboard by turning it upside down and shaking. A more effective method is to use compressed air. Compressed air is pressurized air contained in a can with a very long nozzle. Simply aim the air between the keys and blow away all of the dust and debris that has gathered there. A vacuum cleaner can also be used, but make sure the keyboard doesn't have loose "pop off" keys that could possibly be sucked up by the vacuum.
Why? If the keyboard has anything spilt into it (ie: pop, cola, Pepsi, Coke, beer, wine, coffee, milk, etc.), not taking the proper steps can cause the keyboard to be destroyed.
Procedure: Below are a few recommendations to help prevent a keyboard from becoming bad once a substance has been spilt within it.
If anything is spilt onto the keyboard turn the computer off immediately. Once the computer is turned off, quickly flip the keyboard over helping to prevent the substance from penetrating circuits. While the keyboard is upside down, shake the keyboard over a surface you do not mind getting wet or that can be cleaned up later. While still upside down, use a cloth to help clean out what can be reached. After you you have cleaned the keyboard to the best of your ability leave the keyboard upside down for at least one night allowing it to dry.
If a keyboard does not work after trying it again later it is recommended that it be replaced. If the keyboard works but some of the keys are sticky or cannot be pressed in you can attempt to do additional cleaning in attempt to resolve the issue. Unfortunately many times when any sticky substance such as a non-diet pop is spilt directly onto the keyboard it's usually a loss unless you plan on spending dozens of hours attempting to clean each key.
Why? A keyboard that is used by multiple people, such as students or different employees, may need to be disinfected to help the spread of germs.
Procedure: Turn off the computer. Spray a disinfectant onto a cloth or damp a cloth with alcohol and rub each of the keys on the keyboard. As mentioned in our general cleaning tips, never spray any type of liquid onto the keyboard.

I have a gateway keyboard ku-0833 and its working fine but I spilt a little coffee on it and a few of the keys are stiff to push. Is there a way I can clean it, tried using cotton swabs around the keys but...

You can pry out the keys using a butter knife and use rubbing alcohol to clean the underneath.

if the coffee got into the connectors you might be out of luck.

**THE FOLLOWING IS NOT RECOMMENDED**
When i spilt mt dew on my keyboard i took out the battery let it decharge for 5 minutes. I put it in a pan and poured rubbing alcohol on it and let it sit for 5 min. While it was sitting i swished the alcohol around a little bit so it could flow. took it out and let it dry for about 1-2 hours and it worked perfectly. this is orta used as a last resort

How to Fix Spilt Liquid on bda25ce.jpg?
You accidentally knocked fruit drink or a late night glass of milk on your laptop or your child spilled a good portion of milk directly into your keyboard. You hear a popping noise, the screen goes black. Water by itself is not as bad as milk or juice, both of which are corrosive/acidic, or coffee, tea, soda, etc.
First and most important -Calm Down and unplug the computer from its power source.
Disconnect it from the power cord and remove the battery. If needs, please remove the keyboard. The old adage - Water and Electricity don't mix - is quite true. For your laptop spilled water, let your laptop dry. Do not attempt to turn on the computer for at least 72 hours. Let it sit in a cool, dry place. If you disassembled the laptop, reassemble it after 72 hours have passed.

Hi,
Did you or anyone else spilled anything on them? Do you have a pet that may stepped on your keyboard?
What you can do is to take out on of the problematic keys. Disconnect from power and use a small ruler to pop the key out. See if anything is under there. Maybe hair or food. Do not shake your laptop as this can lead to other problems. Get a dry cloth and clean the key base and underneath the key. Reinsert the key and try it again. If this works do the same for the other keys.

Spilt coffee over keyboard

It might be :-( and usually stuff that lack isn't covered unless you pay extra for a high end warranty.

There are a few things you can do to try to save it though. As long as nothing shorted out (you didn't smell anything burning did you?), chances are a good cleaning could fix it. Are the keys sticking? Most laptops nowadays have a small try under the keyboard to keep stuff away from the vital electronics in case of situation such as yours.

1) Power down the laptop and remove the battery
2) Gently pop the keys around where the spill occurred, just pry them with your finger nail, they should snap right off with a little encouragement
3) Take a damp rag and blot up any remaining spills, or sticky spots, remember liquids and electronics dont mix so go easy on the water.
4) With a dry rag, blot up any remaining wet spots, can hurt to let it sit and air dry for a few minutes as well.
5) Pop all the keys back on and hopefully you'll be all set!

Good luck!

You could try removing the keys out of the keyboard and cleaning it with a damp cloth and a can of compressed air. If the tea hit the circuitry of the board though you may have to get a new one.
